Oirendial sat next to drugo, healing his unconscious body the best she could. She was in a haze of disbelief. Drugo had almost died... She knew it to be true, but she refused to accept it. She had been travelling with him for weeks now. Got used to his presence, his way of talking, his daily routine. She cursed herself for not being strong enough to save him. Had she been able to summon some more dolphins or a mightier creature, she could have killed the octopus without there being a need for Drugo to jump in the water. Had she been able to cast spels to kill, she could've used those. Had she been more brave, she could've swam after him to pull him ashore. Even though she nearly drowned herself while trying that. Kaelmourn had saved her by puling her on the pier with his bow. She now knew what Kaelmourn had emant when he said they eneded to become stronger. This should never happen again. next time she would be able to save him herself, not rely on luck.
Kaelmourn. She couldn't imagine how he felt now. The man he had travelled with, his second in command with the pirates and he hadn't been able to save him, remembering the way he reacted when they had to run from the triceratops, she feared his feelings now. She walked up to him when she had healed Drugo the best she could. "Are you okay, anything i can do?" Useless words in their own, but she hoped they showed compassion and understanding.

Drugo woke up taking a huge breath of air. Drugo quickly opened his eyes to see Oirendial sitting by him. He reached his arm out and put his hand on her shoulder. "Thank you.", Drugo said before coughing into his other hand. "It was foolish of me to think I would have defeated that creature. I am sorry.", Drugo apologized. He then looked off towards the sky. He could feel that that day is going to be a bit awkward. He realized his selflessness was uncalled for. He, however, felt that he was brave enough to fight the octopus. He believed that if he could defeat the octopus then he would defeat anything.

Kaelmourn appeared from nearby trees, having spotted that Drugo was awake. His pace was quick and his movements practically violent as he stormed up to the Samurai who had nearly died. His fists clenched and he reached down to pull at Drugo's collar, cursing him in Elven. "You stupid fool! What in the Goddess' name were you thinking?!?" He shouted purely out of anger. His blood was pumping and his body shaking. He didn't really mean what he said, but out of all of the emotion he could feel right now he felt safest with rage. What Drugo did was foolish, the Drow Ranger's keen eye could only begin to list the mistakes that happened in that fight.
"You don't scare me like that again! You stay out of the water while wearing that armor and you most definitely do not fight sea creatures in their own territory!" Kaelmourn was panting heavily, his eyes focused on Drugo from beneath his hood, though invisible to his party members, his eyes were a mixture of anger and worry, his mind realizing that one hand was raised above him in a fist about to strike. He loosened his grip and sighed, letting go and Drugo and standing up. "Never again. You hear me?"

Drugo gave Kaelmourn a serious look. "Us pirates need to be ready for things like this. If our ship sinks what makes us any better if we don't know how to swim? As for me, I will remember to take off my armor when swimming.", Drugo said before easing himself to a relaxed position. He got up and sat down nearby Oirendial. "If we can't swim, we endanger ourselves and our crew if we get on any boat.", he said with a very serious tone.

"I never learned to swim. if i didn't have my bow in my hands I couldn've stayed afloat, but Kaelmourn is right nonetheless. There is still a diference between being able to swim to safety and rushing to swim into a cloud of black ink where you cannot see anything to fight an octopus that can kill you by simply drowning you." Oirendial was at ease now. Drugo didn't seem all too worried about Kaelmourn's reaction, so she thought it was to be expected and would pass soon. "I vote to let this issue rest for now. We just stay out of the water for now. if we fight any sea creatures, i'll send my summoned beast against them while me and Kaelmourn try to take it down with arrows. On that note, Kaelmourn, could you teach me how to make bolts for my crossbow? I seem to be losing quite a lot of them."

The Ranger paced about them quickly, gradually calming down to return to them. He sat silently and gave a simple nod to Oirendial's question. He retrieved one of the extra sticks from before and unsheathed his short-sword. "The process is similar to making an arrow but differs in a few aspects. Watch closely to learn." He started to work at it, describing the detail with each step, though his voice had returned back to its cold nature. His movements were slow, precise and above all else patient. As with the others it wasn't the best of Crossbow bolts but by the time it was finished it was certainly something for being forged on such short notice. He kept Drugo within his peripheral, being sure that there was nothing else to ruin his day like some wolf deciding that the wounded Samurai was easy pickings while Kaelmourn was...
was...
The distance, just beyond Drugo on top of the hill but a few hundred feet away he saw it. The Black-furred wolf from before was still following them. Kaelmourn's blade and the poorly made crossbow bolt were tossed to the ground as he drew his bow and a single arrow. He drew it back and gave out a loud cry of frustration at the sight of the wolf, its presence practically mocking him. The arrow whistled through the air as it launched but the wolf had already begun to move again and the arrow hit simple dirt. He panted and stayed standing, eyes watching for his target but the wolf never returned, gone for now.

Drugo hadn't been feeling well. His emotions were spiraling out of control. He felt more demented and insane. Angry, yet calm. He couldn't tell what was going on, but he was slowly starting to lose his mind. This had been happening along the trip to freeport. Drugo was changing in different ways. He was corrupting himself. For every attempt at being the good guy he slowly loses himself to insanity. Some time long back, Drugo knew the dhampir was right. He was stressing himself out to where his judgement making is starting to lose control. At some point in time he was feeling more affection to Oirendial. His eyes observed her every feature. It was something about her. He liked her because she looked a lot more like an elf than she does a human.
Drugo turned over facing away from Oirendial and started clutching himself. He saw things...in his second "death". He saw an old friend, a dhampir. It was an old pirate who he thought had died on their way to volkenheim. The man had no name, but him and Drugo became the closest of friends. It was strange to Drugo. Then there was the moment in his death that he couldn't stop thinking about Oirendial. Drugo wasn't think correctly and accidently blurted out, "Oirendial..., I...I...I like you." Drugo then scrunged up and fell asleep. He passed out. He was feeling fatigued, tired. A good rest is always for the best.

Oirendial heard what Drugo said, but decided to let it rest for now, he was confused (as was she) and delirious. But for now her eyes lay on Kaelmourn who had just shot an arrow. Oirendial looked at him with her hand on her crossbow as she stood up and loaded her crossbow. Aiming where Kaelmourn had shot "What did you shoot at?" Her heart was pounding. Ready for a fight. she put one foot in front of Drugo and one behind him. Feeling very protective of him after the recent revelation, however true or delirious it was.

Kaelmourn's eyes stared at the hill for a few moments, watching to see if the creature came back but nothing happened. He growled audibly and holstered his bow before sitting back down. "It was nothing, an illusionary threat. How is his recovery?" Kaelmourn's hood turned to look back at Oirendial, his voice returning to its cold demeanor. "I need him on his feet soon." He looked back down at the discarded bolt and picked it back up, examining it in his hands. "And do you think you got the jist of how this works? Can practice some until you get it right."

"His body seems to be fine, it's his mind i worry about. his near-death seems to have shaken him up pretty badly." Oirendial looked down at Drugo. She really worried about him. "About the bolts, yea, i think i got a good idea of how i should do it, although i don't really have anything sharp to cut the wood with. Just this." She took out a rock out of her backpack that was somewhat fashioned like a dagger. "Don't know if it'll do the trick, but practice makes perfect i guess." With this she picked up a stick of about the size she needed and sat down on a rock and started to cleave into it with her improvised dagger. (Badly of course)

Kaelmourn nodded once and looked about the area for any further signs of danger. Satisfied that he found none he took a seat on a nearby rock and slung his bow over his shoulders once again. He looked up at the sky and wondered how long it would be until morning, his answer being a while since it wasn't even nighttime yet(I think). He wanted to go out and do something else but he needed to conserve his strength for the next day when he would hunt again to help ensure the group had food. Out in the distance though his eyes spotted something moving, but it wasn't the wolf. It took him a few moments to focus in on the movement before recognizing who it was.
"Wyatt's caught up." He stated, a finger pointing to the figure in the distance.

"We should really slow down. He could get killed of easily like this. You said he's a fine warrior and i'll believe you on that, but he's human for all i can tell, which maens he's nearly blind at night. I don't wish to lose one of our party." Oirendial looked over at Wyatt and wondered if he could see even in this twilight. Oirendial whispered to Kaelmourn "Don't shoot it." After which she sumoned a humanoid light (Dancing lights spell) and sent it to Wyatt, for two purposes, to grant him vision of the forest he was walking in, as well as to see his reaction.

Wyatt seeing a ball of light heading towards him readies his dagger.as the light gets closer he realizes its not emitting any heat and is actually just some form of magic to illuminate an area. he sheaths his dagger.
"must be one of Orien's spells"
making his was to his party followed by the ball of light he shouts out.
"sorry I took so long, ran into a bit of a lizard issue" when he rejoins them Wyatt surveying the party notices Drugo soaking wet on the ground
" did Drugo have too much rum again?".

Oirendial lets the light die out. "Yea he did. Why didn't you attack the light?" Oirendial thought it strange. He had never seen her cast a spell to this effect, or anything other then healing even (if i recall correctly), so he had no way of knowing wether it as friendly or not. it could have blown up in his face!

"the elf of whom I told you was my teacher also knew a bit of magic,it has been a long time since I've seen this spell but I still remember it on those nights when we did not have a fire" Wyatt looks at her a little confused "was this some kind of test?"
