The sun had risen, and from the distance, a ship could easily be seen approaching the shores close to the city of Freeport, bearing the black flag on it's mast. A pirate ship, called by the mighty pirate leadership to action, so that it may carry the plunder taken from Freeport. Once it reaches the shore, the pirate group consisting of Melda, Kaelmourn and Wyatt get on board and begin sailing to another land! A land that would most likely promise more profit for all three. The way was full of danger. Monsters of all kinds were encountered during their naval journey, the ship bravely moving on after each fight.
So now, after a few days on board, they finally get some time to relax. Melda has been doing her messy book thingy again, trying to write in what most she could before she messed up her thoughts again. It appears that she had been feeling a bit strange ever since she got on the ship, nervously looking around her each time she got close to the water. The sea was calm, however, and the nice breeze everyone could feel on their faces was more than just rejuvenating. Afraid of water, perhaps? Just plain anxious? Who knows.
Regardless, the half-elven woman kept to herself, but didn't shy away from smiling and waving at the people who acknowledged her presence.

Kaelmourn kept himself at the helm of the ship, his hands resting on the ship's wheel, occasionally turning it a few notches or pulling it further down to significantly turn the ship. The travel was quiet save for the crashing of the ocean against the wooden hull of the ship, the wind blowing into the sails and the occasional groan of one of the crew that had brought it here in the first place. Kaelmourn remained hooded even on the ship, features completely indistinguishable of his race. Really if it wasn't for the fact that his appearance was notorious from wherever the pirates were known, nobody would be able to guess he was Drow unless they recognized the workings of his hood.
A fat, balding man who wore a green bandana to disguise his discomfort with his fading hair as well as to protect his scalp from the sun stood close to the Pirate Lord. Occasionally a whisper would come from the Ranger and the bald man, who had captained the ship on its voyage here, would repeat the whisper in a loud call, bellowing orders out to the crew whenever a change in sails was needed or other such tasks. Kaelmourn thought on a few things as he looked out at sea, his new Wolfish companion was curled up asleep and resting next to him. The creature had taken multiple nasty wounds during their trip, simply because it was what Kaelmourn needed her to be. She was loyal to the end, he couldn't quite guess as to what created this fierce bond in her. In the distance though, perhaps a bit further than what a normal human could spot, Kaelmourn's eyes picked up soft silvery movement. He tried to focus on it but it soon disappeared, something coming up to the surface for a few moments perhaps.

Melda was constantly distracted by the crew members that were keeping the ship going, quickly raising her head up with a gasp each time someone walked close to her. She then returned to her work, but mostly ended up scrapping whatever it was she was writing and throwing it away. It was not long before she just joined the people groaning with a groan of her own, leaning her head back and looking at the sky. She couldn't get the words of that man out of her head. The man who knew what was wrong with her, but denied her salvation from this curse.
Regardless, she packed up her books, papers and pen and dusted off her clothing as best she could before approaching the helm of the ship, her eyes gazing upon the man steering the wheel. A person who, ever since she joined this group of pirates, spoke little and has kept his face hidden under a hood of origins unknown to her. People who wish to hide things tend to know an awful lot, especially if what they are trying to hide is their own self. She carefully walked closer to Kaelmourn, trying not to agitate the wolf nor the fat balding man next to him. Last thing she needed was a wolf biting her and a fat person sweating on her. She raised the tone of her voice so she could be heard, since the crashing waves of the sea didn't allow someone to speak at their everyday tone. "Excuse me uh...Captain, is it? Perhaps you have a few minutes to spare so that we may speak?"

Kaelmourn didn't seem to look away from the ocean and his job at hand, keeping his control on the ship steady. In the very far-off distance he could see land begin to approach on the Horizon, it was a good sign at least. He had heard rumors of a village that existed in the area, specifically of that side of the continent near the ocean by a good 50 miles. Perhaps it would be easy pickings for his crew, they had much that they needed to do before their final destination, but their abilities were progressing nicely. "You said that your name is Melda, yes? Pirate Lord is too complicated a title for easy use, for now Kaelmourn will do. You've been nervous." It wasn't a question but a statement, he didn't need his keen eyes to see the amount of stress on the girl's plate, especially with the wounds she had sustained.
Olath Su'aco remained fast asleep at Kaelmourn's feet, much too tired to even so much as growl at the woman who approached.

Melda nodded as her name was mentioned and approached the man a bit more, so she wouldn't have to shout in order to be heard. "That is indeed my name. I guess it is not hard to keep people from noticing my nervousness as well. I have never been too sea-friendly. I guess it is affecting me more than I would expect." She said with a smile before taking a good look at the wolf once more, making sure she was safe before continuing. "I thought I should at least try to get to know you a bit better. We are travelling together, after all. I suppose it wouldn't hurt much if I came up here for small talk, you have been pretty quiet ever since I have met you." Melda said, trying to not sound a bit too nosy while doing so, keeping her hands joined in front of her torso, still a bit wary of the sleeping wolf by the side of Kaelmourn. She glared at it for the briefest of moments, the urge to be mean to it coming to mind, but was quickly denied as she shook her head once to clear her mind.

Kaelmourn released his hands from the wheel and nodded his hood once in the ship's captain's direction. The Balding man nodded once in return and moved in to take Kaelmourn's place and steer the ship while the Drow stepped away. The Ranger waved for her to follow him and began to walk down the stairs onto the main deck of the ship where the majority of the men worked at keeping things afloat and ready. Some carried around rope, where others fastened crates of gold to the deck so they wouldn't slide off of the craft and land in the water. Kaelmourn's eyes spotted one of the crew nicking a handful of coins from one of the stashes and the man almost immediately found a crossbow bolt stuck in his hand, pinning the appendage to one of the crates. An obvious punishment for a man trying to steal from him.
"What is it you seek from traveling with me Melda? Gold? Fame? A chance to stab at someone? A chance to stab at me?" He'd ask as he moved forward to rip the bolt from the man's hand and glared at him with his hooded gaze. The man yelped out in pain and quickly ran off into the ship's decks as the Drow reloaded his hand crossbow and pushed it back into its holster on his thigh.

Melda's right eye twitched once as she saw a crossbow bolt fly towards someone's hand, her right hand covering her mouth to keep her gasp from coming out of her. However, once the man's blood was visible, she slowly lowered her hand from her mouth and a smile appeared on her face. The urge to grab the crossbow from Kaelmourn's hands and shoot at the thief once more entered her mind, but she quickly shrugged it off by shaking her head yet again. "An answer and a solution". Melda replied to the question after the whole incident with the thieving crewman was over, following Kaelmourn's steps around the ship, observing as he did his mysterious patrolling of a sort. "An answer to my condition and a way to fix it." She stated with a firm tone. "I have travelled the world for years in order to find one who may have even the slightest idea with what is going on with me. Every opportunity I find that is even slightly related to my problem I take. I just have to in order to survive."

Wyatt takes in a deep breath of the sea air,the saltly breeze made him feel at home ad he had made many new friends most of which were actually not of the boat it self.the chirp or his aquatic friends was easily heard as they swam next to the ship occasionally jumping out of the water.
"aaahh the sea air make me almost forget about these injuries" he said to his dolphin friends
"squeak squeak squeak" one said in response.

Kaelmourn nodded once while he moved up another, smaller set of stairs that led to the front-most section of the ship. None of the other men were here, though Kaelmourn spotted Wyatt speaking to the Dolphins they had tamed earlier. It was an odd sight to behold, really, it wasn't nearly the connection that Kaelmourn shared with Olath, but the dolphins were almost certainly ready to die for all of them, Wyatt especially. It was a strange thing to see such creatures put their friends before themselves.
"And what praytell is going on with you? Is it your claws? Because my mind imagined that such a thing was because of your magics." He paused for a moment to look to Wyatt, "You've seen the land I'm sure Wyatt but did you manage to catch the sight of what's waiting a few miles out of the shore?"

Melda followed Kaelmourn to this less-crowded part of the ship, sighing in relief, as not as many people would think her words crazy-talk now. She paused for a moment to look at Wyatt speaking to his dolphin friends, a bit surprised to say the truth, her eyes blinking once to reflect that surprise. For a man that licks the blood of his enemies off the sword he kills them with, he seems to actually be nice enough to get dolphins to follow him. She waved at him and smiled for a few seconds before returning her attention to Kaelmourn. She cleared her throat once and raised her hands up to chest-height, making hand-motions as she replied to the man's question, most likely not realizing she was doing so, as body-language was speaking for her. She was trying to express herself honestly.
" I have been suffering from...'alien' urges ever since I could perceive the world around me. Urges that bombard my mind relentlessly, urges that make me want to do things that I would never normally do. Sometimes I have to struggle just to remain in control of my thoughts, as even my body tends to respond to these feelings. However...I know it's not my personality, nor my mental stability. It is something else. Something makes me feel so. Something that is a part of me...Yet at the same time shouldn't be. I have not come to understand what exactly it is, and nobody has done so yet as well. I have spoken to druids, clerics of both good and evil gods, healers, charlatans, oracles, sorcerers and wizards alike...None were able to discern what is wrong with me. Some spoke of a curse. Others of madness. Yet still none were sure. So that is what I do. I seek the truth behind my condition and a way to fix it."

Wyatt turned around to face kaelmourn "It's the city of birchview apparently, from what I've heard from the crew its a new settlement" looking out to the direction of the city "looks like a large settlement though,at least three times the size of Freeport." then turning back to kaelmourn with a smile on his face "which also mean 3 times the plunder".

Kaelmourn raised an eye-brow underneath his hood as he stared at Melda for a good three seconds before bringing his gaze back to Wyatt. He moved up to the edge of the ship and pointed out. "Yes there's Birchview, but I meant the water. Do you see it? Right there." As he pointed it would perhaps just begin to come into view for the human eyes that Wyatt had. The water in some places could just barely be seen as a soft red, a trail leading back up to a small area of the color where the occasional fin could be seen dipping out of the water. Strewn about were the remains of a few small vessels, they were relatively close to the shore and some adventurous folk enjoyed taking their small boats out into the water, deep enough to fish well and enjoy a sunny day.
It didn't matter now, their boats were smashed by the sharks and the fishermen eaten. It probably started as one or two sharks, investigating the scent of blood from hooked fish. Then eventually it became enough that they worked into a frenzy, or perhaps something else was making them so aggressive. A boat perhaps got smacked by one, a passenger fell out. Struggling and trying to get back onto the boat the sharks would have dived right in after such movement. And with one death more blood would spill into the water until more sharks came, bringing them to the scene they saw now. His eyes tracked each fin that he could spot, but with the distance it was difficult.
"Sharks. I've counted 6 on the surface at most but there's probably more. They're worked up into a frenzy, will probably attack anything that comes close. Feel like another fight?" He asked, turning his hooded gaze between Wyatt and Melda. He wasn't ignoring her statement about her urges, but his mind was thinking on them, trying to translate the possibilities that could come from it. The most logical one was that she was indeed insane, but other alternatives were out there.

Melda did feel as if she was being ignored or thought to be completely insane, even if that was not truly the case. She hanged her head slightly forward, letting out a long, drawn-out sigh before turning her attention towards the sharks. She frowned deeply, as she realized another battle would be taking place soon, even though she was already beat up. Shaking her head slowly from side to side, she began walking towards the sight they were looking at. Once a few feet away from Kaelmourn, she stopped and gazed upon the sharks, lowly saying to herself. "Bloody Sharks..." Oh well. That was the immediate threat anyway, so Melda thought it was best if she focused on the task at hand. Perhaps the others cared little for her problems, something that would make sense, seeing as Melda was fairly new to their group. Or perhaps they couldn't care for them right now, something Melda hoped was true. Either way, sharks don't kill themselves, so Melda began walking away from the front-part of the ship and back to where she had left her equipment. On the way down there she said " I will get my spear..."

Wyatt looked at the spot kaelmourn indicated and he did indeed the fins of the sharks circling around the area. Wyatt rolls his shoulders in an attempt to get his body ready for the fight "well I was looking to get some shark skin to have some new equipment made." the dolphins all started chirping. "ha-ha seems like they want to help as well" Wyatt said as he continues the stretch.

Kaelmourn looked away from the waters and began to head back up to the helm of the ship, hand giving a soft but short-lived tug at Melda's arm to tell her to follow. "Tell me more of these urges you get. Explain them in detail." He said as he moved across the wooden deck and up the stairs. Olath raised her head up to look at her master, the general look he had on him was all the sign she needed to know that she was going to have to fight. She stood up and stretched herself out in preparation as kaelmourn whispering something into the Captain's ear.
"ALL HANDS ON DECK! GET READY FOR COMBAT!" The man shouted out as Kaelmourn finished. The Drow turned his head to look back at Melda and gave a short nod for her to continue.
