Melda felt Kaelmourn's hand on her arm, her body freezing in place. She gritted her teeth, trying to restrain herself from telling him off, hands clenching into fists. She took a deep breath and exhaled slowly, calming herself down and turning around to face Kaelmourn. She then began following him as he wanted her to do. She was about to speak, but the captain's shouting silenced her for a brief moment. Once he was done yelling his commands, she looked around as everyone was preparing the ship for the battle to come, but she continued nevertheless.
"Urges...The urge to hurt. To destroy. To deceive...To steal and curse. Everything I do, and everything I try, it's always influenced by this urge to crush whatever is in front of me, to deceive others to gain something...It's hard to resist. It's also against who I am. I never really cared about wealth, nor fame. I always just cared about being free and learning more about magic. That is it. But...But these urges try to make me do otherwise. Sometimes I even have hallucinations because of them. When I walk closer to the sea...I see my reflection as someone else. For but a brief moment, I see myself as a different person. Though this reflection changes back into being myself in a blink of an eye...I struggle to keep myself in control, especially during combat. I do not know what else to say about my condition...That's how I can best describe it."

"you guys heard the captain,we're having shark fin for dinner!!!"Wyatt shouted to the crew as they scrambled into positions before getting his bow which was inside a barrel with the other bows of the crew and slung a quiver filled with arrows across his back.
"five gold to the man who takes down the biggest shark" .

It was a long battle, the blood of shark, dolphin, wolf and man painting the surface of the sea, as the ship the pirates where came into contact with the sharks of the sea. One could say that those sharks lept out of water in order to take a bite at the pirates. The dolphins lay dead along with the sharks, now all at the bottom of the sea, food for more predators of the sea. Luckily, no casaulties were had on the pirates' side, other than the dolphins of course. Now, that things have calmed down, the three victors, four counting in the bloodied wolf, sail on towards their goal location. The land is not far away from their vision, as they will soon begin raiding the plains of Calidor once again.
So now, Melda, Kaelmourn and Wyatt get their well earned rest on the ship as it moves towards the shore. The sorceress has taken some time to write in her books and papers, trying to return to perfect health. She took a good look at the rest to see how they were faring, waiting for a wave or salute of celebration...Perhaps with some anticipation.

After the battle Wyatt found it difficult to fall asleep that night. he had awoke in the middle of the night and was unable to sleep so he had spend the night just looking off into the horizon, mourning his dead dolphin friends giving the occasional sigh as he looked back in the direction of the battle.
"...Billy.."

Melda looked around her for a moment and then decided to close her books once more and began walking around the ship, looking at all the people who were pleased to have emerged victorious from the recent fight. Once she saw Wyatt, who was obvious feeling under the weather, she approached him and quietly decided to tap him on the shoulder with her left hand, in order to get his attention. She smiled and tilted her head to the side before taking a seat next to him, except if he decided to leave.
"Want some company? You don't seem to be feeling very well."

Wyatt looks up at melda acknowledging her tap on his shoulder and manages a small smile at her interest in his condition.
"Thank you,It's just...all of those dolphins died because of me. I've played the fight over in my mind several times now and I just think if I were a little bit stronger I could have saved them."Wyatt gives a sigh.
"...I just feel so powerless right now"

Kaelmourn gripped his side where a shark had taken a bite from him, the bite shallow enough to not need to worry but the jagged teeth had loosed themselves during the attack and had lodged themselves partly into his body. He had returned to his cabin with Olath, letting the poor wolf rest while he finished picking the large teeth from his side. Each one pulled pressed waves of agony through his body and he gritted his teeth through it all. Eventually though the wound was treated with well enough and he managed to patch-up his armor to the point of being able to keep his true-appearance anonymous once more.
He felt a wet nose nudge into his leg and his thermographic eyes picked up the sight of his wolf, who oddly enough seemed....bigger. That and she was well rested, perhaps done with her rest for now. He reached down cautiously and stroked his hand along her black fur. The wolf leaned into it for the few seconds it lasted and soon Kaelmourn was on his feet, taking a walk outside on the deck. Things were quiet now without the bustling of crew, from deep within the ship one could hear the tell-tale snoring of several members. The Pirate Lord's walk was not perfect, and indeed had a limp to it, but it was well-hidden with his grace. His eyes spotted Wyatt and Melda on the front-most section of the ship and moved up the stairs to join them with Olath Su'aco pattering just behind him.
"We killed many." He stated in almost monotone.

Wyatt to stares at the waves crashing onto the side of the ship,he hears kaelmourn's words but doesn't turn to him, not out of disrespect but he is just involved in his thoughts.
"You mean I killed them...they were trying to protect me" Wyatt says in a sad low tone
Wyatt turns to Kaelmourn.
"They died because I was too weak".

Melda turned her head to the side a bit to look at Kaelmourn as he spoke, nodding once to acknowledge his presence. She then returned her attention to the mentally wounded Wyatt, patting him once on the shoulder to comfort him. "You couldn't do anything better. We all did our best and, sadly, this was the best outcome we could come up with. I am sorry for your friends. Especially Billy. Perhaps one day we can become stronger, ensuring that such casaulties are nothing but a nightmare to us."
Melda turned her attention back to Kaelmourn, shaking her head slowly in disappointment, as Wyatt's condition seemed to be more than just 'bad'. "What do you think, Kaelmourn? Am I right on that one?"

Kaelmourn moved up next to them and sat himself down on the railing of the ship so that his legs were above the ocean water which rushed aside with the ship's speed. The wooden transport had only the barest skeleton crew manning it, the rest asleep in preparation for the next day. He thought on what to say, the answer something he had always known but couldn't form into words. The importance of sacrifice was something that was inevitable in battle, and as he slowly spoke, the thoughts finally combined themselves together into strings of words that formed sentences.
"You cannot save them all, no matter how strong you are. The important thing you must always remember is when you are spending lives, and when you are wasting them. That is a choice you must make every day of your life so long as you have subordinates that will follow you into battle. We gained much insight and training from this battle, we'll be stronger because of it and we gained enough food and materials from the bodies of our opponents to put to good use. They were lives spent for a good cause, they were not wasted."
Olath Su'aco sat herself down just behind Kaelmourn, staring off into the dark horizon as well.

Melda looked at Kaelmourn as he decided to be romantic and assume this position of his, looking out into the ocean and the such. The refreshing breeze that everyone but the hooded man could feel on their faces was more than welcome at this point. Melda nodded a few times slowly as Kaelmourn spoke, tapping her chin with her left index finger in thought. When he was done talking, she gave him a brief clap of approval.
"And here I thought that you were just creepy. You seem to have enough experience, Kaelmourn. I guess it's no coincidence you are the leader of this....group, yes?"

Wyatt takes in all of kaelmourn's words, he remains silent for a while thinking on what he has been told.Wyatt had never had people following him into battle before so the role of leadership was still very new to him but he knew if he ever was to lead anyone again that kaelmourn was right.Wyatt turned his attention to the pill of dead shark bodies on the deck and walked over to it to skin them, some off the crew had already started skinning a few and storing the meat but there was still a lot left to skin.
"well we had better make sure a single piece of shark goes to waste then... thank you guys"

Melda looked at the large pile of sharks, cringing at the sight of it and then smiling nervously. She dislikes such acts...But since it cheered Wyatt up, she could only at least try to make him feel better by not giving him the mean eye. She felt the need to scream in anger, but decided against following that urge. She simply stood up, walked closer to Kaelmourn and quietly said.
"Well...That worked at least...He seems to be feeling better."

"The truth of leadership is much harder than what I told him, but he'll learn of it himself. It's the only way to figure its workings out. Walk with me, I have some opinions on your....urges." He had turned to let Wyatt work on the sharks, moving back down to the deck and up to the helm where he shoo'd away the crewmember manning the wheel so he could take it himself. The black wolf followed him the entire way while he moved and watched while he gripped the wheel tight to ensure he had a good grip on it. He turned it a few notches and kept his hooded gaze straight forward on the sea ahead and the approaching land.
"Where I come from, the manipulation and summoning of demons is an art reserved for the matriarchal priestesses. I've seen enough to know their behavior, though, and your "urges" fits them. Whatever is causing your issues, it's because of a demon's taint."

Melda chuckled lowly. She was not sure why, she just did. Perhaps she did not even notice. Once Kaelmourn asked her to follow, she nodded once and began walking with him towards the wheel of the ship. She kept a good distance away from the wolf, not wanting to be bitten from such a beast. She then carefully listened to Kaelmourn as he spoke his words...Words that she did not like. Her smile soon became a frown, and her frown soon became a nearly panicked look on her face as she lowered her gaze to look at her hands. She gritted her teeth and then replied in a low voice, trying to contain her anger.
"But...I have been to so many clerics of good gods...Paladins...Druids and wizards and sorcerers...They never spoke of demonic taint before. How can...How can this be? How could I be tainted as such!?"
