i believe that successfully crafting should be rewarded with experience as you are completing goals same as with beating monsters
for completing a crafted item players would receive dc*5 cost experience for successfully completing a project. you are only rewarded based on base dc so any extra taken from improper tools location or the +5 for ignoreing prerequisites. furthermore a player ony recieve expierience from up to two items crafted per day(i am an alchemist i can craft 4 dc11 potions daily but would only get exp for 2 of those so a max of 220 exp a day atm)
please vote on the fairness of the rule not cause your a fighter and dont want others to get exp another way
edit: please point out issues you see with the system or ways it can be manipulated
edit:i have changed the rules to reflect points that were brought up in the forum thread

I think it needs work, as DC*5+GP is a bit too much given that most of what will be crafted will not actually cost you any money, just takes away resources for a week. I think it should probably just be DC*10

its the gp cost that you would normally pay its just so making more expensive items nets more exp

So, at level 5 for example, Making a wand of fireball would net you: 10*5+5625
That would put you about 2/3 to level 6.

Now that same wand of fireballs gives 10*10= 100xp for 6 days of work. Back to the drawing board we go.
I dont have time right NOW, but I will try to come up with something that scales well along all levels.

this rule is originally meant to help dedicated crafter along people who spend weeks on end crafting for there fation or profit so it shouldnt scale two well as at higher lvl the crafter can fight for exp but having a viable scaling option works two

Well, this is a level 5 crafting the highest DC wand for itself. And at lvl 5 100 xp is... well its horrible.

How about this, [(DC * 15) + (CL * 100) * Character Laval ] NOTE: The CL and Character Laval are Caped at 5

lets see so that would make the wand of firball by a 5th level wizard 150+500*5= 3250. That might be a reasonable system it does heavily favor magical over non-magical items, though admittedly that might be fair.

Well, this system would be for crafting magical items. Non-magical items are to be handled by other means. (But think about it, most items we will craft will be magical right?)
