It was a dark and stormy night when I got distracted by the concept of crafting in this setting. The only thing that's stopping me from just going for it is I don't think I really understand how it works. The example in the Calidor rulebook suggests the creation of three suits of chainmail over the course of three days. Which is unlikely to say the least as I understand the system as described by the pathfinder SRD, which suggests that rolling a crafting check of 30 each day until completion one (1) set of chainmail would take just over 3 days. (God help you if you don't roll a natural 20)
Obviously I would prefer the version where it only took me one day to craft chainmail, i'm just not sure I understand how the system works.

I was not so worried about the actually crafting time but more on the character being used for all that time. In the case of magic or wondrous items all of a sudden the character is out of play for a few weeks!

We actually run into that problem well before we hit magic and wonderous items, masterwork alone will take a week at the very least. If anyone ever wants to wear a good set of full plate you are pretty much out of luck because it would take 26 weeks to make a completely mundane set of the stuff. No one is gonna wanna just sit crafting for 26 weeks. This again still assumes you are rolling 30s everyday for your crafting check 26x7.....182 30s in a row....good luck with that.

You are looking at the wrong rulebook. Please reference rulebook v1.2 for information on item creation.
Item creation follows the exact pathfinder rules for mundane and wondrous item creation except for two important difference.
1. You must have access to all materials that the item in made from in order to create it and you cannot substitute those materials for 1/3 cost.
2. Progress is measured by days and not weeks. You make a craft check everyday instead of every week and for everyday you spend doing so you must spend 2 movement points.

In the by day process do we divide by 7 like in normal pathfinder crafting?

Ahhh alright that's the part I was missing gotcha. Though full plate is still seems a bit much at 26 days to a set, but its a heck of a lot better than 26 weeks.

I know people who spend an entire year making a set of full plate in RL. 26 days is kind of fast in comparison.

Well, you still have 8 hours in the day to adventure... (You should atleast...)

No, any day spent crafting requires your full attention.

I just think it silly. Even in normal games, people can either adventure and craft, or craft during "time skips". In a game like this, crafting anything worthwhile, will take a too long, stopping the person from leveling, making them fall far far behind. No one will do it.
