So the issue continues to come up of "I have a horse, do I get better movement?" and "Well I can fly, what are my movement bonuses" but in truth, we don't have a system up yet. So this is what I propose to you all.
Having a mount, regardless of its speed, should give extra movement points, like three movement points a day instead of 2.
For flying, I suggest that all terrain be treated as plains, meaning 2 movement points per hex, regardless of what terrain you're going through save for caverns because of tight spaces.
Put your thoughts, feedback and your own suggestions here.

I think having mounts should put a +1 to hex movement
(I am open for a debate)

Well I was going to propose that any movement enchancements such as mounts or vehicles function on the idea that a hex is 2 movement points base(no impediments, so like an open plain) but use a modifier based on base movement speed so that if you are on a mount that moves 60 it costs half as much a mount that goes 90 it costs 1/3 as much to cross a hex of course fractions would be a pain but I would like there to be a difference in speed of a dire bat as compared to a Pegasus.

that, my friend, is an wesome and nice realistic idea. hoowever, i don't know how fast some creatures go, but if you can fly half the map in a day, i think it'll get a bit OP

Obtaining a Pegasus would be extremely difficult even at higher levels, I would have the ability to travel at 100ft for 12 hours a day at level 6 this would be flight. So even at 3x travel speed with the base speed being each hex costs 2 units. Normal speed would be 7 hexes a week I would be able to go 21 hexes in a week. I would barely make it from Volkenheim to the Band of Hawks in three weeks. It is just a realistic and an easy way to solve future conflicts with developing travel accommodations. I think it makes sense to round after doing the multiplication for example
A horse travels at 50ft so we would multiply a group of riders movement by 5/3 so it would be 23.33 movement points per week rounding down to 23 of course if 1 of 5 people have a horse they all shouldn't be traveling at the speed of the horse.

I dunno about you guys, but in my experience horses dont travel through forest and mountains well (Well they travel mountains great in skyrim)
It could just be a plains bonus

Plains and roads bonus works. Forest and other difficult terrain not so much.

Horses are natural animals, forests are no problem for them. As for mountains, a person would need an ass or donkey to travel effectively through that.

horses are horses, they are not creatures of the forest. They are too big to move at optimal speeds. They can trot but you wont get any movement speed bonus from that.

or take 1d6 damage per round as you gallop into trees?

The speed of horses is more than just galloping a horse cannot maintain a gallop for a whole day, just like humans can't run the whole day so the speed isn't based on a full gallop, they do indeed walk much faster than humans. A forest would not impede the speed of a horse by any greater degree than it would a human, horsed are actually a lot of fun to ride in forests granted they aren't too tall. A jungle, marsh or mountains may have some claim to slowing down the horse.

As some one that lives and works on a horse ranch I can attest that a horse walks much faster that a human and can keep it up for hours. Trees don't pose much of a issue for speed to them ether nor will a swamp as long as said swamp stays no more than fetlock deep on them. A mountain on the other hand gets tricky but assuming you are not on a path of some sort you can pretty much count any non war trained mount out as they cant physically make it throe most mountains.

I think having mounts should put a +1 to hex movement (I am open for a debate) I would agree with this or maybe plus +2 on all types of flat terrain (Also up for a debate)
