Palfreys were considered uncommon and very expensive, almost to that (not not quite) of Destriers

"flat lands HILLS and LIGHT FORESTS" are not the same thing as forests or mountains in my opinion if a tile is just on the edge of being forest or plains its a light forest and hill are just that hills there are even things that work better with hills like the towers

Oh and that would be counting in travel purely on roads.

Hunterkiller, I was describing the specifics of the horse and type of travel. Not generalizing the rider

Well let's just break this down. So far through discussion we have found that an average horse would no increase speed of travel to a discernible difference. However special horses may increase a players move speed. These horses are uncommon and would require extensive training. Even then if a character would want to take advantage of this faster speed they would have to weigh no more than ~180lb accounting for all gear.

Interesting tangent. One thing that would/should increase the amount of MP would be the ability to go without food/sleep for extensive periods of time with no side effects. This could be from a ring of sustenance, or from being of undead/construct type, or some weird class ability. This would be especially the case if it was also accompanied by darkvision.

I think most of the time, except desert and mountain, riding a horse can move faster than on feet no matter what. So in area that horse can sprint have +2 MP, other areas have +1 MP. Camol provide bonus movement in desert. And mountain, nothing I can think of can provide bonus in that environment (I'm talking about mountain, not hill)
Just a suggestion....

A horse that sprints 50 miles in 8 hours is a dead horse.

BTW the mp represents in game time, not speed. So if this were to be working into being a mechanic it would reduce the amount of mp to travel. Not add 2 or so mp to be used. 1mp = 8hours I believe

Effigy, are you suggesting that the pathfinder guidelines are inaccurate or shouldn't be used? A quick internet search suggests that it's more or less correct for a well conditioned horse on good terrain, but you might have a better source than my quick internet search.

Experience is my source. If you even try and sprint a horse for 10 miles at a true gallop its a dead horse.
