Day 1:
As the Lady has been asking, I have finally sought out some others to travel with. I will be chronicling my time spent amongst them, so as to have a guide to reference in hopes of making sense of their oddities. I do not understand why She believes I should live amongst them, as I have been quite content with just her presence for many years, but I shall endeavor to make Her happy. I found a city by the name of Alexandria, in a land named Valencia. Why they feel the need to name one part of the plains one thing, as if it is a seperate entity is beyond me, but I shall go along with their oddities for now.
I have joined in with a quiet man named Akiir, who seems to be ashamed of his appearance, as he hides it behind a mask. He is too pale to have spent much time with the Lady, but seems a sociable sort. Alongside him, is a small reptile thing, that I am told is a kobold. He speaks oddly, and has many strange mannerisms, but I find him to be far more likable than Akiir. There is something wrong in hiding your face from the wind and the sky.
Day 2:
We fulfilled the first mission given to us by the Valencians today, and they all seemed quite pleased. I led them to a vein of a silvery ore I knew of from my travels through these lands, and they were quite happy to have it. I think they called it mithral. I am pleased that they look upon the gifts of the Lady so well, and hope that they respond in kind to her kindness. I believe that due to this, I have somewhat cemented my place amongst them, though I would not be surprised or upset if they expect more of the same from me. Everyone has to earn their keep in a pack, no matter how oddly run it is.
I believe we plan on spending the rest of the week hunting and exploring in this area, more than likely in some goal of making it "safer" for the other Valencians. I guess they don't understand that for every area we pacify, and corrupt with unnatural order, the Lady will grow more upset, until She will force them from herself. I hope this does not happen, and they are simply hungry, but I will abide by her wishes, and continue to work with them.
Day 8:
It has been awhile since I have written in this log, due to a lack of interaction with my traveling companions, and in truth, I do not find writing to be an easy task. The words come to me, but it is odd to be writing them in silence, rather than speaking them to the Lady or my companions, but I shall continue, as I believe this to be a worthwhile test.
As expected, we did spend the rest of the week hunting, and I find it amusing, that the Lady put in our path many that we could not hope to fell. Perhaps She shows them as a warning, so that She is well respected by the Valencians, or perhaps She was simply amusing herself. Either way, I found it funny, though I hid my mirth, so as to not irritate Akiir and Ezelli.
I look forward to continuing to travel with them, and expect to learn much from their company.
Day 9:
Well, I learned my first lesson of people from Akiir, and it reaffirms that which I learned long ago. People are not to be trusted or depended upon. When I awoke in the morning, he had vanished, along with his belongings. Dissappearing into the night, with nary a word in parting. Ezelli still slept, but I did not want to risk him abandoning me to my face, so I left before he awoke. I hope he can forgive me, but I will not put myself in a place to be hurt by others again.
The winds came to comfort me as I traveled, and I feel that while Lady is saddened alongside me, She still wishes for me to travel alongside others, to learn of them, and from them. I shall spend sometime alone, and then seek others out again.
Day 14:
The Lady is certainly pushing me to join with others again. I believe She respects my desire to be alone, but is pushing for it to not last any longer than absolutely necessary. My hunts were sparse the last few days, my arrows breaking in odd circumstances when used, and many animals I came across were not themselves agressive or a danger, but they were beyond what I could handle by myself.
I find myself at a crossroads now. Do I travel back to Valencia, to seek another group of compatriots, who may or may not be trusted? Do I seek the companionship that the Lady desires for me elsewhere? Or do I go against Her wishes, and continue my solitude, and seek to reach a point at which I can handle anything She throws at me? The last is surely folly, though it has its own appeal. I must make my decision soon, and I hope that I make the correct one.
