((I know we are still RPing in the arrival thread but I wanted to do this while it was still fresh in our minds. I figure this will take off as we get back to camp after the hunts and get Gerath awake))
As the day carried on and more of the tribes showed up to Nisengard the time approached for the yearly hunt to take place to provide food for the feast. The tribe heads were the ones running the hunt and they invited along the guests called in from the Order of Odin as well as their new guest from the mountains.
It wasn't long after they set out that they came across a couple of wild horses grazing not far from the city gates. Knowing that good steeds were hard to find around here Johan and Felda at first attempted to bond with the horses and see if they were trainable. After realizing that these horses were far too wild and untame to keep the Vikings were not about to let good meat for the feast go to waste. With a few slashes of a sword and a well placed arrow from Johan the two mighty horses dropped and they were taken back to the city for preperation.
Knowing that would not be enough the hunting party set out once more and after a bit of searching found exactly what they were looking for. Two rather large mountain lions who had come down to the valley in search of food of their own. The lions were hungry and that only made them more vicious and the same could be said about the Vikings as both they and the lions were quick to engage in battle.
The lions however were slower than the well trained Vikings and with a bit of command from Felda the very roots in the ground came alive and wrapped themselves around the lions holding them in place with Johan letting fire arrow after arrow into the creatures from a safe distance. Gerath though unfortunately underestimated the power of his companion and tried to charge into the brush to finish the lions off quickly only to find himself rooted in place as well.
There was a bit of back and forth as the lions struggled to break free of the vines and the Vikings hungrily waited for their pray to come close enough to finish off. The lions struggled through the vines as did Gerath as the lions continued to be pelted by arrows and magic. As one was about to fall from the assault, in a last show of defiance one of the lions broke free and pounced atop Gerath grabbing ahold of him with its massive jaws and ripping into him with this claws. Had it not been for Steinholf the Bloodied and his bravery Geraths hunt would have been ended prematurely but in a quick movement Steinholf let out a call to Nise to grant him the power he needed to to save his wounded comrade. Nise had plans for all of these people gathered here and so she answered his call and saved him from an otherwise certain death.
Their wolfman guest then stepped into the fray and as the other lion approached he swung his mighty sword and with a clean blow removed the head of the other lion. With a loud Victory cheer the vikings moved in to claim their prize and take the beasts back to be skinned and cooked while Steinhold looked at their fallen yet stabalized companion. He gave the order to have the Oathbreaker returned to camp to be tended to. Possibly not happy that he survived afterall but as Nise's ill worked through him he did as she commanded.
