Kerzer had been tired of just sitting around the Hawks abandoned castle for nearly a week after the crushing defeat of his comrades. It was boring and not keeping his mind of the deaths that he could have helped prevent...if only he had been stronger. So stronger is what he would become! He had heard of possible troubles in a town, West Dale, nearly a week away from his current position. The journey would make for a perfect time for him to begin his training as to get stronger and be able to better defend his comrades in the future.
So Kerzer set off! Into the unexplored and unknown areas, to himself, east of the Hawks land. Along the way Kerzer expects to encounter many creatures. Some of which he may have to run away from and others that he will most certainly take down. All of this just to make sure the local town was to be rescued from whatever things were troubling it, and of course to train himself to be better prepared against the horrors this world has to offer. Off Kerzer goes to West Dale...the journey begins.

The first few day's of Kerzer's travels were quite uneventful. A few of those times he did run into some dangerous situations, but he always managed to either stay hidden or gallop his horse away from the situation. He had traveled for about four days before he met with his first encounter on the road to West Dale, it wasn't the hardest of encounters for Kerzer to deal with, but that didn't mean that he wasn't anxious when he noticed what he was getting into.
Orcs. Not the smartest of creatures, but what they lack in smarts they generally make up for in their strength. Kerzer knew it was probably a foolish idea to compete against the Orcs, but that wasn't going to stop him from at least trying. There had been 6 of them, the stupid beasts thought they were going to be able to catch him on horseback, little did they know how wrong they actually were. Kerzer fired off shot after shot while guiding his trusty horse with his knees.
As the fight dragged on the Orcs drew closer their numbers dwindling, at one point one of them was right on-top of him, but before it could get its attack off on Kerzer's horse he shot it in the face spraying the Orcish blood all over the horses body and its comrades a few feet back. This left only two of the Orcs to deal with and Kerzer could see the slight fear in their eyes, but the dumb beasts didn't attempt to run away and save their own lives, but they attempted to continue to press forward and kill Kerzer in revenge for their comrades.
The last of the Orcs were simply dispatched by Kerzer and at the end of the encounter Kerzer simply road away, leaving their bodies to rot in the dying sun of the evening. It was time for Kerzer to rest and continue along his way towards West Dale when he awoke.

Kerzer was nearing the end of his travels towards West Dale when he was ambushed. After the fact when he had time to sit down and think about it he realized that the Orcs that ambushed him probably witnessed his earlier massacre of the ones a few days prior, but that didn't really matter to him at the time.
It was mid-afternoon when the beasts struck. Ten Orcs coming out of seemingly the rocks in the mountains, and quickly coming upon him. Kerzer, caught unaware, drew his bow and attempted to shoot the Orc that was acting the quickest, but the shot fell short. The Orc then took a swing a Kerzer, but his horse skipped out of the way and managed to avoid being hit. After Kerzer's shot missed it was only a matter of time before the other Orcs quickly got up to him in an attempt to surround him, but luckily they left him one opening.
As soon as Kerzer had a chance to react he whirled his horse around in a flourish, hooves kicking out at the nearest Orcs and took off bolting across the mountain away from the Orcs. They gave chase for a bit, but soon gave up as they realized they were never going to catch the constantly running horse. Kerzer had made it out with his life, but just barely...luckily for him West Dale was just around the corner.

Once Kerzer rode into West Dale he could tell something wasn't quite right. The villagers were running around all over the place trying to pack things away before night came upon them it seemed. ~Something must happen here at night~ Kerzer thought as he started to slowly ride up towards one of the villagers. "What is going on here" Kerzer asked the man at the stall quickly packing away his things for the night. He was met with no response as the man quickly looked up at him and went back to his work trying to pack things away. This happened quite a few more times before finally a girl told him that this village was under attack every night by vampires that took people from the town.
Upon hearing this news Kerzer quickly went to the inn and started up a conversation with the owner. He rented a room for the night when he knew it to be safe if he stayed in-doors and went to sleep with the thoughts that he would talk in more detail about these vampires in the morning. Once morning came Kerzer went downstairs and had breakfast in the town. It looked normal enough, there were people sitting around the tables eating and having a good time. When the waitress came over to clear his table and ask him if he needed anything else he asked her about the vampires. She told him that people didn't like talking about them anymore and they had been coming for some time now. They would come every night and steal away men turning them into vampire spawn. After the girl gave him this information and the possible whereabouts of the vampire den he tipped her a gold piece and started his way out of town.
He would come back to this town and help them one day, but he knew that day would be far off and that he would need to train himself quite a bit before that happened.
