Day 1. Ill-omens littered the path as Lector made his way back to Yesad. He pondered about the political mess that was boiling over right before he left the capital. The Emirs were plotting each other's death, that was the rumor on the streets anyways. Like a overfilled kettle, the state of Yesad gave an ear piercing scream to all those near by. He was glad that he received an assignment from the disgruntled Captain at the time. Being in the mid of the desert in unexplored territory was better than sticking around in the capital. An impending doom filled most of the inhabitants, they weren't sure what was to come but it was definitely something bad. Lector was no exception from this feeling. But now he's curious, filled with anxiety he wonders what happened after he left. Someone had to sit in that throne of sand. He wished that he could have been sent to the east where the beautiful ocean and beaches of the Asahara resided. He pondered about making a trip there after he finishes some business in the capital. *growl* as a wolf jumps out of the shrubbery ahead of him. It charged at Ryful, saliva flew out of it's mouth as it attempted to bite the Eidolon. Its bite deflected off Ryful's hardened carapace. Lector summoned a pile of grease underneath the beast but it quickly adjusted to the new terrain. Ryful bit back and sunk his claws into the wolf's body. It's body goes limp. The two move on unfazeed by the now dead assailant. It was a common occurrence in the Asahara as regular as the meals they eat everyday.

Again trying to engage Lector in conversation. Silence is good for reflection but sometimes that reflection needs to be disturbed to come into clearer focus. "What ails you Lector, the one who knows me but have not met. I am curious about that, but for now I am concerned more for you? Does the loss of the small one Del trouble you?"
The Monk with many names but called ChanG is indeed sincere in his inquiry.
"All life must be lost, such is the order of the existence of life."

"You speak in riddles monk... I'm just exhausted from the heat." He responded trying to not act surprised to having just noticed the ChanG.
"The little one has nothing to do with this" he retorted. He stared into the distance and began pondering an explanation for losing someone on his first expedition. Surely they couldn't blame him for the loss. The little ninja ran off on his own, all crazy eyed and happy. Additional he was a ninja who could disappear in a puff of smoke, he couldn't keep track of him even if he wanted to.

Day 2 The two of them continue to march through the Asahara desert. It was the same path Lector traveled on the way there but the landscape looked very different now. Most of the dunes were moved and some completely flattened. He could see how someone without a sense of direction could easily get lost out here. One sandstorm and travelers would feel like them have been teleported somewhere else. He watched his steps as he walked so as to not slip and roll down a hill. The monk walked behind him suddenly let loose an arrow. He looked up to see the arrow sink into a deer. A deer in the desert? Surely it was a mirage. It didn't matter too much to him as he sent Ryful to take down the wounded deer. It was rare to see a deer out in the desert let alone catching one. They scare easy and run at the first sign of danger.

Day 3 It was cloudy and breezy today, a huge relief for Lector. Not like the hot sandy breeze that usually plagues the desert. This was a cool soft breeze. It reminded him of the days where he could sit on a porch by the lakeside and enjoyed the wind chimes singing in the breeze. The trees all waved together and sang a lullaby to help him sleep. The sky was bright and blue yet the sun did not scorch his skin, that was a perfect day for Lector. He marched on imagining a life of peace and quiet. He looked forward and was startled by a trail of tracks. They were feline by the looks of it and there were hundreds of them. His eyes followed the trail and he saw a pack of leopards not too far off in the distance. Adrenaline kicked in as his heart started to race. He quickly ducked behind the a rock to catch his breath. There were at least 12 of them feasting on some bisons. They growled at each other as they fought for the better parts of the carcass. He crouched low and was greeted by a mouthful of sand as the wind picked up again. Careful to not not make any noise he spat out the sand. He moved away slowly until the leopards were out of sight.

ChanG following ever so silently both in words and in foot catches the quick movement of Lector ducking down and crouches himself stringing up his bow just to be prepared. There almost out of view where the ground seemed to move large cats, circled a downed animal. Seeing Lector come back crouched low ChanG follows suit leaving a good path for his egress.
Thinking to himself, Lector is a good person. So far decent of character solemn for the loss of his other companion lost under his command. Sure it must be tough anytime but this might have been the first time.
"Where we heading?" ChanG finely breaks the silence after 4 long days.

"Back to Yesad. To report what we found." He contemplated whether ChanG could be trusted. The monk's peculiar appearance made it difficult to confide with him.
"A raven brought a mysterious note about the throne, we should thread carefully. I smell treachery coming from the capital." Lector added erring on the side of caution.

ChanG grateful for some words. "Be true to your center." Center probably not the best word the real sense of being true to your inner self and listening to the wind. "If it is trouble you sense, then together we shall meet it. You seem to be the only one that knows me. I am here of a greater will and such be their instrument. I will not back away from righting a wrong, even if it is not mine. The order should be again and then there will be peace."
The torture of the new language leaves many holes in what ChanG has truly meant. Just hoping that enough of the meaning will get past the partial language barrier.
Hefting his bow and standing ready to march on. "We go?" ChanG says. Waiting for Lector to lead the way.
