What a strange place, this Valencia; they don't even have a proper place to smith. King Renen seemed nice enough, he promised that although they didn't have a place for him to work as of yet, that building one would be one of the kingdom's first priorities. Despite the lack of proper setup for his talents, Valencia was one of the few nations with functioning iron mines, so once they had a forge up and running he would be able to get right to work. In the meantime he worked out a deal with the local inn to act as a repairman of sorts in exchange for board and ale. He strolled around the city familiarizing himself with the capitals sights and sounds. As a fledgeling nation Valencia is not yet built up and has little to actually explore, but the people welcome those from all walks of life. Once he could practice the craft he could see himself calling this place home.

As he returns to the inn after exploring valencia, he is greeted by the barmaid who immediately sets him to work. The patrons of the inn do little to take care of their rooms and as such Mason begins making his repairs. Mending a door here, a cracked vase there, piecing together a shattered cistern; although not smithing, the work was fulfilling, it was still crafting of a sort after several hours of repairing the inn, he returns to the bar area and calls for their strongest ale. He is offered a meal for his work a well, it is much appreciated. Six pints of ale later, he is rather belligerent, and rather affectionate in a bawdy manner towards the barmaid who begins to express her disdain towards the amorous dwarf. She convinces Mason to go up to his room, insinuating that she would soon follow only to have him wait until he passed out. Thus ended Mason's first night in Valencia.
