We need to have an iron mind to craft weapons and armor. We also need stone quarries to create buildings and such.
But what about stone weapons? Stone can be found on the ground we walk and it would be pretty illogical if one can't use it to craft weapons and armor.
What about wood?
And, in a more ridiculous way, what if i actually smelt gold (since we have much more of those than iron) to craft a weapon/armor? There are rules for that, but i wish to know what is and what is not allowed before i proceed.

i assume all of this is allowed as your making the weapons out of materials you have

Speaking of materials we have, couldn't we actually "recraft" a weapon? Use it's materials to craft something else?

Armors and weapons made from gold are fragile and often used as ceremonial purposes rather than practical use. And they're effing heavy. Yeah darn, first time I complain for having too many golds. (^__^)a

(^__^)a I know, as well as wooden, bone and stone weapons. But when iron is scarce we need to make weapons for our big orc. Even as fragile weapons, each weapon costs 1/4 or normal price. Effigy's current weapon deals 1d8 20-20 x3 if i am not mistaken. A lucerne hammer that he would like to have in stone edition costs [(15 / 4) / 3] ~1g to craft, which means i can craft, like, 100 in one day? And i am sure a martial class character can carry more than 3-4 at the same time, since they have a reduced weight. And it's damage, 1d12-2 20-20 x2 is not bad either. Now imagine a greatsword. Or a bone composite longbow. Or a stone full plate. It's going to be all neanderthal again.

Under the current system you can't make more than 2 items in a day. Other than that I don't really see any problem in making items from the material crafting rules you listed as long as you are careful to keep track of the specific inferiority/superiority of said items.

SigniferLux: We can always fix a broken weapon as long as the same material to forge it exist. Fragile means it breaks on roll of 1, something we're hoping to avoid coz it's fumble as well. But yeah, let's hear what the GM has to say and our Warden as well. tarabull: yeap, back to stone age.

As far as I know they're ammunition. Where is the -2 damage penalty from anyway? Fragile weapons do full damage until they're broken, I think.
