OOC: Let me know if I'm not doing this right - I've never done forum RP before. This should be a record of Dax's introduction to Kaelmourn some time ago
IC: As Captain Kaelmourn is sitting in the tavern, enjoying some grog with his crew, a small creature in a servants outfit appears at Kaelmourns side and softly says "Excuse me. Excuse me? Excuse me sir? Are you captain Kaelmourn of the Blackwater Pirates? I've heard you're expanding your outfit and I'd like to sign on with your crew."
Dax's appearance is that of a goblin with a typically large head, large batlike ears, and splotchy skin. His beady red eyes are completely at odds with the well kept servant's outfit he's wearing, which is further at odds with his longbow and rapier. He is standing with his hands behind his back, patiently awaiting Kaelmourn's response.

Kaelmourn turned his hooded gaze behind him, finding no-one there though he knew someone called his name. Whereas others were enjoying rum, grog and other liquor the Drow had a simple glass of Bloodwine in his hand that was now half-empty. As the voice continued to talk the Ranger's eyes lowered to look at its source; a short-looking goblin who was sizably armed for one so small. Kaelmourn's features were completely unreadable while hidden under his crystalshroud cloak, a simple wall of blackness was all the hood would provide no matter how closely one looked.
"News travels slowly. I am not a Captain, I am Pirate Lord of Blackwater now." He said in a cold, mostly bored voice as his eyes examined the Goblin. "We may have room for you. What is it you specialize in? Why should I care about what you have to offer?" The Tavern was busy tonight, gold having just rolled in now from the raids, most of the men inside as drunk as could be, even a few looking to pick bar fights with one another.

Dax shifts uncomfortably at the attention. He obviously doesn't like having the attention of someone with so much power. But he steels himself and answers.
"Well, erm, Dax doesn't really know much about ships, but Dax wants to point out that they don't allow goblins in this tavern. Or the city. At least Dax doesn't think so. Dax didn't ask, because Dax was too busy not being seen. But Dax is here anyways because Dax heard Master Pirate Lord Kaelmourn isn't prejudiced against people just because of stereotypes. Or because of colorful history. Do you need to know Dax's life story? Oh, Dax should do something simple to prove himself! Want Dax to steal something? Kill someone?"

Kaelmourn chuckled from under his hood and turned back to his drink, seeming to ignore the Goblin until he spoke again. "There's an Orc in the corner of the room, several empty tankards of ale beside him. He's been doing nothing but drinking and polishing his Axe. I want you to steal it." The Orc in question could be spotted a mile away, dark-green skin and piss-yellow eyes focused on the blade infront of him. His body was practically fully composed of muscle and several of his teeth had grown into large tusk-like fangs.
(OOC: I'll play the Orc =3 Keep things interesting)

Drugo listened in on the request. He gave a big laugh thinking the goblin would never be able to do it. The laugh wasn't very disturbing but could be heard across to Kaelmourn and the goblin. He then sipped on his ale and placed down a couple of playing cards.

(I'm going to assume that the orc is constantly holding his axe, making it a nigh impossible sleight of hand check without changing the situation.)
Dax gets a glint in his eye as he considers the situation. With a look of glee, he vanishes into the legs of the crowd. After a few minutes, he reappears standing on a barstool next to a second orc, and whispers something in his ear. The orc looks at Dax a bit incredulously, then shrugs and gets a giant grin on his face. Dax then reappears next to the bartender, whispers something in his ear, and passes him a couple of coins. The bartender shrugs, goes into the back room and comes out with an entire keg of ale, and then another one, which he hands to the orc Dax spoke to earlier. The Orc brings it over to the target Orc, sets it down on the table, and proclaims loudly. "This here be a drinking contest, to see who here be the Orc with the strongest stomach in the tavern. First one to the bottom of the keg wins." Dax is nowhere in sight.

(Drugo wants in on the little challenge.)
Drugo heard a loud thunk and an orc yelling out a challenge to other orcs. His jaw dropped from looking at the large keg. At the same time he pulled a card out; it happened to be a royal flush in his game. "Hey waiter!", Drugo said raising his empty glass, "I need a refill. I need my special rum." The waiter nodded and went to the back room. At the time he was waiting he got up and proclaimed out to all the orcs, "I bet 10 gold I can drink more than all of you orcs!" It was a challenge Drugo wanted. Drugo never passes the opportunity of free alcohol. Anything that comes by will be savored by him.

Kaelmourn silently sipped at the bloodwine, the moment the words were spoken three figures stood up, all of which were orcs. One included the target. He stood up and moved over to the keg with a gutteral growl. "Me best stomach!" He declared, snarling at the other two orks. Another one, scrawnier yet with a knowing glint of power in its eyes beat a club down on a nearby table, snapping it into splinters. "You'z nothin'!" Finally the third shadow moved in towards the group, noticeably much bigger in both height and girth than the other two orcs, perhaps even combined. His voice boomed over the other two in demand of dominance. "YU'Z GITZ GOT NUFFIN. I'Z DA BIGGEST SO I'Z GOT DA STRONGEST STOMAK." The lumbering giant of an Orc stood an easy 12 ft. tall and was half that size in width. He carried no weapons like the others did but it didn't look like he would need it.
The three stared at each other, the ale momentarily forgotten, their grips tightening on their weapons. The commotion was enough for Kaelmourn to pause and turn around to watch the ordeal, perhaps momentarily amused at the ensuing tension.

That's not ... quite what Dax intended, but it should work well enough. In the meantime, Dax thinks this is a wonderful opportunity to recoup Dax's losses on the keg. Dax moves among the growing crowd staring at the contest, and moves in a slow circle ending a few feet behind the target orc, collecting a few choice purses along the way while leaving behind similarly weighted bags of rocks.
Dax wonders if the samurai is going to join in the "contest," given that it looks just as likely to be a brawl as a drinking contest.

Before Drugo got carried away with his sillyness, the waiter taps him on the soldier and says, "Your specialty is served.", pointing at the tall bottle and a small glass near it. Drugo then looked at the commotion then back to his rum, his rum was more important than anything. Drugo quickly ran over to the counter and sat down. While the big commotion was going he resumed his card game and drank his special blackwater rum merrily. Drugo cared less about the orcs now. He took a good sip of the rum and felt the warm sensation in the back of his throat. The rum was now in affect. Blackwater rum was said to be the sweetest rum in the lands of calidor, but in it's return makes people feel more drunk than they should be, however, Drugo likes to drink his slow and steady.
Sipping on his rum he held the cards in his hands. He turned his head towards Kaelmourn and said, "When we going to Volkenheim. You said you, me, and that weird scruffball creature are going." Drugo was referring to Vez when he meant scruffball.

The trio of Orcs suddenly turned their eyes from one another to look at Drugo as he put up the challenge. Each one of them grunted and looked at one another, a pause falling over them before they all began laughing in unison. "HA HA HA, DAS A GUD WUN SQUISHIE." The monstrously large Orc blurted out inbetween laughs, his chest heaving with his laughter which caused the room to shake softly with its thunderous volume. Kaelmourn's ears twitched in irritation at the noise and he frowned, watching the group's laughter slowly die down as they came to realize the Samurai was serious. Another long silence passed...and then...
"BAHAHAHA! E'S SERIOUS! HA HA HA! WUZ A LIDDLE SCRAWNY GIT LIKE YOO GUN'NA DO 'GAINST US? BAHAHA-GAH!!" The Orc's laughter was interrupted at the sound of a discharged crossbow, a bolt landing squarely in the Orc's loin-cloth which caused the large brute to grip his crotch with both hands and fall over cross-eyed. For such a large being, his cargo was apparently something his physiology didn't protect. Kaelmourn sighed with relief as the heavy sound of the laughter stopped and the tavern went eerily silent, all eyes focusing on Kaelmourn who was calmly reloading his hand crossbow. Once that was finished and he re-holstered the weapon he gave a dismissive wave for the contest to continue.

After the bouncers dragged away the unfortunate immense orc, the remaining two orcs realized their good fortune - the number of kegs now matched the number of orcs. "This'z my keg, that's you'z keg. First to the bottom wins." And with a roar of alcoholic fervor, the two orcs grabbed the kegs and started guzzling, straight from the tap.
Finally, Dax had the opportunity he was waiting for. With the two orcs busy chugging booze, they had finally let go of their weapons, and had their eyes averted. With quick, unseen movements Dax made the target orcs axe disappear. As the orcs continue their contest, Dax reappears by Kalemourns side.
"The axe is sitting outside, hidden underneath a refuse heap. How's that? Dax figured Master Kaelmourn would rather not be seen with the axe. Might be bad for Master Kaelmourn's image. Dax can go get it for Master Kaelmourn if Master Kaelmourn wants"
Edit: Note that Dax's voice is *not* loud enough for the orcs to hear.

Kaelmourn nodded approvingly at the words of the Goblin's success. He didn't stand up though, finishing off his glass of bloodwine before moving his hooded gaze back down towards the green creature. "An excellent choice in tactics. I will have use for you soon. Months from now when the next summer begins to fade and the trees have started dying your services will be needed. Until then, you must train for the trials to come." His voice sounded serious, his mind lost in his own tactical forecasts for a few moments.
The Drow Ranger stood up from his seat and motioned for Drugo to do the same. "Get your things ready for your trip, Drugo. We leave tonight." Kaelmourn turned away and strode out of the tavern purposefully, the Orc by now realizing that his prized axe was missing. "'Oo took Krum's Axe!!!" He bellowed, eyes searching around the Tavern for anyone holding his beloved weapon.

After listening to what Kaelmourn ordered him to do, Drugo put down his cards and took his rum with him. Knowing the bartender to get angry about it, he left a little tip. Drugo walked to the door and opened it. The fresh smell of air, salt, and beach. The night sky was high above showing it's great stars. Drugo was a little woozy and followed Kaelmourn. "We going to Volkunsmitzerhitzerfelter?", Drugo asked while trying to say the country's name correctly.

The Drow nodded once to his bodyguard and began moving through the city's streets and corners, the various pirates and low-life scum that inhabited a good portion of its area laughing, drinking and generally enjoying the loot that flowed in. Kaelmourn's gut twisted with disgust at these lesser creatures, but within what would be such a short amount of time for the Drow that would all change. The twisted stone pathways of the city lead up to the keep at its center where his new quarters were. "Siyo, Volkenheim. All of the pieces are in place, it's almost time to begin the dance that this Realm revolves around. My dance, the dance of death..."
