(Starday, 9th of Arodus 71 A.C.) Aegoth woke up with an annoyed expression on his face. He looked around and saw the light shining from the window onto his bedroll. "Probably noon," he thought He began to dress into a clean peasant's tunic. Once that was done he clipped his sword onto his belt and folded up the dirty traveler's tunic he wore the previous night. He placed it in a corner to be cleaned eventually. Aegoth's thoughts were still on the previous night. He had many questions. "What was that light from? Who made it? Or what made it? Why didn't they pursue?"One of the things he was doing for certain that day was investigate the merchant's house. He needed to know, for curiosity's sake and for the sake of future "jobs". He also planned on making some quick runs through the city market. Pocketing his way to get enough money to replace the tools he lost last night will take some time... He walked downstairs and ordered a nice cold mug of ale from the innkeeper. The innkeeper produced one and handed it over to Aegoth. Aegoth took a sip of the rather watery concoction. "Gods, it tastes so bland. That dwarven ale yesterday has certainly spoiled my appetite" he thought. He finished it and left it on the bar. He walked out into the city streets.

Aegoth wandered down the street, with a thoughtful expression on his face. He passed by merchants that were accompanied by sweaty peasants carrying goods from far away lands. As he walked further down a little boy ran by him clutching onto a worn-down doll. His sister ran by next yelling something at the boy. He turned a corner. A couple stood next to the street. Looking into a glass window at the tailor fastening the thread on his latest dress. He walked down another block and entered the main roadway. Traffic brushed past him. Horses, Donkeys, Mules, and Oxes dragged along wheelbarrows and carriages. People were moving goods along the road. It was another busy day in the city of Valkenheim.
Aegoth continued down the street, towards the marketplace. He still wondered about the previous night's events. He couldn't help but wonder what caused that flare at that merchant's house. Whatever it was it did its job because it scared him off the premises. In the five years that he had been in his profession he had never had to face something like that.
"Could have been magic," he thought
Aegoth shuddered at the thought. He feared magic. He feared it because he had lacked any sort of knowledge about it.
He put the thought to rest as he entered the marketplace. Aegoth stopped by a corner and looked for the location of the guards overseeing the area.
He took note of their positions, and checked the custom scissors that he had. They remained hidden in the palm of his hand and could seperate a hanging money pouch from a belt. A perfect tool for pickpocketing.
He sighed and entered the marketplace, eager to earn some quick money off the citizens of Valkenheim.

No natural light shone inside the room but his inner clock told him it was morning. Half asleep, Constantine left his bed and headed towards one of the sides of the room. There he uncovered a small hole in the wall through which the pale light of the morning barely shone. He opened a door that lead to a small washroom and he started preparing for the day. After finishing with his toiletry he took his spellbook from one of the tables and he started browsing it.
"Oi! Wake up!" He sent the message to the bird making it flap it's wings and disturbing it's sleep.
"Why did you do that?" The message from Mak came back, a bit annoyed by his childish antics.
"We must get ready for today's business. We also have to find who was our mysterious friend from last night. he may have something to do with the disappearance of our former Warden." He took a clean robe from the wardrobe and continued. "You'll have another day of flying around the city today."
After dressing,he grabbed his staff, the owl jumped on his shoulder and they departed through the secret tunnel. Once outside the wizard made some quick gestures followed by some strange words. After this little ritual was over, Mak took flight and disappeard ito the morning sun.
He started making his way towards the market. He wanted to see someone concerning some information about a band of brigands that was plaguing the surrounding lands.

Aegoth walked around the market. The market was shaped in a circle with multiple stalls and shops lined up on the perimeter. He would walk around like other citizens and look at the merchandise. Every now and then he would pick up an item and ask for the price. After the owner gave the price, he would try to haggle it down. After a few minutes of talking he would make a snide comment about "greedy merchants" before leaving for another stall. He would brush past several people on his way. Some of the unfortunate people would later find that they have been relieved of their purse. The missing purses were safely tucked away in Aegoth's tunic.
Within thirty minutes, Aegoth believed he had an adequate sum of money. Enough at least to pay for his meals and room.
He began to make his way for the nearest street.

The market was buzzing with activity, merchants peddling their wares and the constant chatter of haggling. It was an overwhelming sight for someone stranger to city life.
As he was making his way through the crowd, Mak barged into his mind.
"I see the marked one. He is in front and to the right of you, trying to leave the market."
Constantine was a bit taller than your average Volken but he couldn't see the one with the mark because Mak had placed it on his shoulder. Mak was also detecting that the stranger is a half elf but there was no one that he could see near him. He had to get out of the crowd.
"Which way is he going?" He sent the message adding an urgent tone to it.
"Towards the street to the right. He just left the crowd." The bird then swooped out of the sky and landed on a roof to emphasize the direction the intruder had taken.
The wizard made his way out of the crowd and started following the target from a distance, using Mak to make sure he doesn't lose it. While passing near a guard he ordered it to go and prepare a squad and for it to be ready to move when the order came.

Aegoth happily left the market. Satisfied with his earnings for the day.
"At this rate I'll be able to keep myself fed and pay for room at the inn for a few more days. Maybe after a few weeks I can get a smith to craft a new set of tools," he thought.
He entered the street and turned a corner.
"Time to look for a new hideout. The inn's cozy but that's probably why the authorities stay there so often," he thought thinking of Hal, the priestess, the wizard, and that ugly looking half-orc Effigy.
However, as he turned the corner he caught a glimpse of an owl perched on a roof. His eyes immediately towards the rooftop.
"Curious.... never seen an owl out in the daylight or in a city before," he thought. "This new city is so strange. Oh well, I'll get used to it"
He shrugged off the thought and looked away. Aegoth cheerfully continued down the street.
