Hukro geared up in the early morning hours as he prepared himself for his trip. Few people were up at this hour but a few servant girls were in the kitchen when he stopped by. He grabbed an apple and a biscuit or two as the ladies chit chatted. One of them let a giggle escape as they watched him but just he smiled. After collecting his breakfast, he gave them a soft spoken farewell. He thought one of them blushed but he was no expert on women. He would give a message to his liege's courier on his way out, that he would be hunting in forest along the southern river. He was on his time schedule in departing from the Valcenia's walls before dawn.
The morning was still cool and the fog lingered as he trekked through the forest. He knew of many game trails in the area from his time as a boy of Cougar tribe. Times are changing through he thought, civilized thinking. Something that he has grown accustomed too especially since the Cougar has accepted Valencia and Renen. He wasn't the only who mixed their heritage of the wild and civilization but most of the Cougars keep out of Valencia unless its to trade.
Hukro pauses momentarily as he hears the forest start to come alive as a few rays of sun break through the canopy from east. He kneels down to get his bearings and looks for signs of game markings.

Hukro moves slowly through the forest as he follows an old game trail with his bow in hand. He thinks of the old hunting trips his father took him on, telling him what signs to look for and what animals they were. His true father, Huro; didn't care about the omen the shamans said about Hukro, teaching him like any father would their son. "May you run with the cougars father."
When he spoke, the buck he was stalking bolted from behind some brush. The animal leaps were graceful and strong, darting through the trees. Hukri crouched down and watched, tracking the movement of the buck as far as he could see and the noise it was making was out of range. He would start to follow the tracks of the buck, he knew it was his true father sending him a sign "Thank you spirits"
As Hukro followed the tracks but as he did, Huro came to the forefront of his thoughts. Missing his true father If I was only faster he thought but there wasn't anything he could really do. That what the shamans told him, it was foreseen when Hukro was born. He knew his father didn't believe it or at least never lead on that he did. Hukro feels some regret for being the death of his father but what could he have done.
He stops at a small creek wiping the water from his eyes before looking around for markings. Noticing that he traveled farther than expected concerned him some but the buck was close. The tracks showed the buck's stride was relaxed now. Hukro lowers himself some and slowly follows the tracks.

Eyeing the buck in the distance, he pulls an arrow from his quiver. Hukro gently places the arrow on the rest. The buck snorts and looks around and eventually stops his glaze on Hukro.
Heeyah! Bursts through the serene forest, followed by the sounds of a galloping steed. The buck bolts off and out of side as he turns to through the noise maker. He sighs and moves in its direction; before laying sight on the messenger its calls out for him "HUKRO, You are need by our lord RENEN" Hukro quickens his pace, crashing through the brush and limbs. The messenger calls again and again his name.
Breathing heavily Hukro erupts near the messenger, startling him somewhat "I am here and ready." The messenger offers him a hand on the back of his steed, Hukro nods and takes the offer. Hukro asks "What does our lord what of me?" Messenger "He is gathering his special council and you are on it supposedly."
Hukro rides quietly the rest of the way, wondering how this will turn out.
END Hunting trip.
