I would like to commission a beginners guide to starting out in this game as well as a compilation of frequently asked questions.
The rulebook is great but can be very daunting to a newcomer to read and remember everything especially when they most likely will not start off ruling a faction.
I also ask for all players to record the questions they are asked by new players and place them in here

Q: What do we do on the forums? A: On the forums you can Role play your character, expand on your background through flashbacks, conduct diplomacy, or communicate with other players.
Q: What do I do on Roll20? A: Once a week you schedule a time with the DM, and you do actual "gameplay" where you physically move somewhere with your character, fight monsters, etc. Rest of the week, you can RP, craft or plot to end the world. You get 14 movement points per week, and as you move around on the world map, there are chances of encounters with monsters. You can also go and hunt other players if you want. You also make any rolls for things you may have done during the week such as crafting and the like.

A quick nota, since i was a completely new player. Join the game on roll20, and just ask. People are extremely friendly and accepting to new players. Whatever you need, just ask. I'm mostly on, as are a lot of other people so most of the time theres someoene to help

-------UNDER CONSTRUCTION------ First off hello everyone who is interested in this Campaign! The rules of this game are still changing and I will try and keep this updated but the most current rulebook can be found at realmofcalidor.proboards.com/thread/2/realm-calidor-rulebook I suggest you read this but I will try and break it down. 1. Character Creation 2. Actions 3. Nations 1. Character Creation is 25 points for stats, Average Wealth, Starts at level one and everything from there is standard. 2. Actions: Each week you receive 14 movement actions 2 movement actions= 1 day. This means that anything that takes time such as crafting uses up moment actions at this rate of 2 a day. Movement actions can also be used to travel through hexes as in this chart: Movement Chart Terrain Type Movement Cost Druids & Rangers Only Plains 2 Movement Point 2 Movement Points Forest 4 Movement Points 2 Movement Points Marsh/Swamp 4 Movement Points 2 Movement Points Mountains 6 Movement Points 4 Movement Points Jungle 6 Movement Points 4 Movement Points Desert 6 Movement Points 4 Movement Points Water (aboard a ship) 1 Movement Point 1 Movement Point *Roads reduce movement costs by 1/2 While traveling every 3rd hex you encounter you roll a d100 for a random encounter, the longer you stay in the encounter the harder it is to flee. Every week a nation gets 2 offensive Land actions these are often used as land searches You or your party can also go on a hunt which causes an encounter and takes 2 movement actions or 1 day.
