Actually this makes sense. Thw GMs adopt an enemy's mentality. They play the monsters like beasts that want to kill you. But as long as they dont make the animals suddenly know how to flank and such, then its all good. Animals are supposed to try and kill you. And they are supposed to try hard.

I have to admit, if given choice of GM who favor certain players (or factions) with GM who's out to kill us equally I choose the later Yeah, I'd have to say, oddly enough, I completely agree.

Yes, as long as they don't bend the rules or push ruling to benefit the monsters. It's best to set the ground rules now. Since we do have an influx of new DMs I want to make sure that they are not so obsessed with killing PCs that they will prey on new players who don't know the rules as well. My comment also relates to campaign development, a DM obsessed with body count can just throw in monsters that one shot players and metagame against the PCs abilities. Basically what I'm saying is that if you're a DM who wants the PCs dead you'll most likely make biased rulings which are more likely to go unchallenged by new players that don't know the rules. Noob stomping basically. edit: It should also be noted that it's hard to prove malicious intent on the side of the DMs which in most case it isn't and doesn't have to be to achieve the end result. But a simple fudge up like like messing up AC or attack can result in player delay or death. I've also noticed the DMs rarely give advice to players at all and sometimes may even give bad advice (once again preying on new players). If you're not 100% sure on a rule please look it up especially if it will end up killing someone. For example, I didn't even know I could roll to flee until I saw this thread to change it. When animals fled from me I thought they were rolling to see if it decided to flee. At the time I asked what happened and was only told it fled without an explanation of what the roll was for.

I have not an inkling of the urge to bend or break the rules of this game. Yes a PC death is a big deal and I can tell you when a PC is doing something pretty risky everyone watching is excited.
If you feel a DM has done something outside of the rules to hinder your character please inform me and I will punish them accordingly.
Understand that to me everyone in this campaign NEEDS to follow the rules or this game will not last. So it is the most important thing to me in the game that everyone adheres to the rules.

As I said earlier, I will not be biased in helping or harming any one particular faction as a GM.
I take pride in killing all of your characters yes, but I do not and will not go out of my way to do so, nor will I break any of the rules with this occurring so much as I will take a silent pride in your characters death by my hands during the session as well as some amusement if your character's death is the result of your own stupid mistakes.
As Magistrate Spade said earlier: "If you feel a DM has done something outside of the rules to hinder your character please inform me and I will punish them accordingly. "
So if you really have a justifiable claim of this happening with any GMs, including myself, be sure to inform Magistrate Spade at his earliest convenience.
Now, there shall be no more speaking on this matter. Off-topic posts have thankfully not gotten too off-topic to the point where I would have to intervene. Let us be sure to keep this discussion that way.

If you feel a DM has done something outside of the rules to hinder your character please inform me and I will punish them accordingly. Cool so during my first session here the DM won't let me move 40ft on my barbarian. He said it was because I was wearing medium armor. And I said I can still do it with medium armor. He insisted and so did some random player. It was getting late and I wanted to go sleep so I couldn't be arsed to keep arguing about it. so here's the section from pathfinder: A barbarian's land speed is faster than the norm for her race by +10 feet. This benefit applies only when he is wearing no armor, light armor, or medium armor, and not carrying a heavy load. Apply this bonus before modifying the barbarian's speed because of any load carried or armor worn. This bonus stacks with any other bonuses to the barbarian's land speed. I couldn't care less if he got punished. I just want the exp I missed out on because I couldn't reach the deer in time and he ran away.

The armor would still reduce your speed by 10 but you also get a +10. So he allowed you to move 30 speed correct?

Apologizes you're correct. I thought medium didn't hinder move speed.
