Kaelmourn's things were always packed and ready, he didn't carry much, just enough to find rest and get food for the evening, all stored into his leather backpack. His gear was set, he was ready to head back to the Pirate-city. He was a prominent captain and they would need his leadership in the times to come, because change was coming and he had to be ready to face it. He had money for himself and it had begun to pile-up in the cities at home he knew. He was apart of the largest gathering of pirates the world had thus far seen and they were going to make a move soon.
Kaelmourn's eyes wandered across the features of Veiðimaðurheimian with an uncaring gaze hidden beneath his hood. Perhaps someday this too will be burnt to the ground and looted. But if such happened it would be a long time until then, he'd best start moving out now. He made one last check of his things and was pleased that everything was where it should have been. He had a quiver full of arrows on either side of his backpack, one full of a significant amount of regular arrows, the other having much fewer, but their shafts were covered with sharp thorns that could cause horrific bleeding. Across the back of his waist were two more quivers that laid across one another like crossed swords. Or crossed bones... Their contents were but 10 arrows tipped with smoke sticks in one, while the other held a good amount of small crossbow bolts. Strapped across his back was a large bow, a composite bow to be exact that had been hand-tailored for his use. Strapped to both of his thighs were small hand-crossbows, their first shots loaded inside.
Satisfied that everything was ready, the Drow began to walk down through the streets to the city's limits. He was ready to leave this place, sickened enough with the presence of its citizens and leaders. His mind darkened with the thoughts of their cheery personalities, and how he might like to silence some of those smiles. Ranger or not, mercenary or not, he was still Drow and he still despised every single one of these creatures. The city gates were in sight now, it wouldn't be too long before he was out of here...

One of the city guardsmen passed Hemata in a hurry heading towards the city gate. After he reached it the gates were closed and 4 guards were posted in front of it. Everyone that tried to leave the city was redirected back. "We are sorry but due to unforeseen circumstances the Warden has forbidden anyone from leaving the city. The inns are free until the problem is solved. Thank you for your understanding."

Kaelmourn stopped and narrowed his eyes underneath his hood. He didn't much care if their Warden said that the world was ending, it didn't matter if he was right. He had spent too much time here, it was time to leave, and he wasn't going to let some guards stand in his way.
"Open this gate and stand aside or bring out this warden of yours to meet me. I'm leaving tonight." He said plainly, voice ice-cold and uncaring like an embodiment of the word sociopath.

Drugo walked down the streets up to the gate. He was surprised to see the guards lined up and the gates closed. He walked up leisurely to the gaurds and a drow. Drugo's drow eyes glared at the gaurd up front. Drugo didn't like the city nor cared any longer for it's silly ways. Drugo stood 20 feet behind Kaelmourn, watched, and waited.

The drow was menacing. The guardsmen were barely trained in combat so the prospect of facing an adventurer was pretty grim. One of them came forward. "Wait here. I will go and talk to the warden." He then rushed down the street and soon disappeared from view.
Constantine was in a room with the guard sergeant. "Tell me where were the guards from the square? I ordered that the guards be doubled and you leave the city square unguarded?" He was angry, pacing around the seated guardsman. "My Lord..." There was a knock on the door and a young man burst in. "Sorry to interrupt you My Lord but there is a commotion at the city gates." "A commotion? What happened?" The young soldier took a deep breath. "There is a drow adventurer that demands to leave the city." The wizard pondered his words for a moment. "A drow adventurer. And he demands. What is your name guardsman?" "My name is Roger, Sir!" The Holder approached him. "I have some orders for you Roger. Guard this room and don't allow anyone to leave or to enter. You may get a promotion." After hearing what the Warden promised the soldier stiffened and yelled. "Yes, Sir." Constantine turned towards the Sergeant. "Please wait here until I return. We will continue our discussion shortly" He then turned around and left the room and started heading towards the city gates. "I should have sent for my staff."
When he reached the gates the 3 remaining guards were still at their posts, turning people away from the gates. The drow was sitting in the shadow of a building with his cloak covering his features. "Ah! It was you Kaelmourn. I thought it was someone else. I will vouch for you. After all you didn't shoot us in the back when we fought the hobgoblins."

Effigy looked at Constantine. "be better to kill him. He Drow, no Drow good." Effigy remembered vividly the time he spent in the Shadowwar. "Spare him now and he kill you later." He meant every word of it as hatred burned in his eyes. "Can I have the pleasure?"

Kaelmourn watched silently, his hooded gaze on the guards ahead of him while he waited. He could feel his patience running thin, like a length of cord being pulled and pulled until it would run out. He didn't much want a fight right now, he didn't like how much time would be consumed by it. He casually glanced back at the other Drow standing beind him, another pirate, and gave a knowing nod as a sign that there might be trouble ahead.
As Constantine arrived and said he'd vouch for him the Drow relaxed some and gave a slow nod. "I don't need vouching, I need this gate open so my crew and I can be on our way." It was now while the night was young that he wanted to be moving, and nighttime only lasted for so long.

Drugo walked forward a little closer to Kaelmourn. He got close enough to whisper in his native drow tongue, "Do you think there may be any other way out besides this gate?".

Constantine felt the familiar presence of the orc beside him. He could get used to that. "No need for that Effigy. He hasn't done any harm to us...yet." He then turned towards the guards at the gate. "Open the gates!" The men got to work and the great wooden gates started moving.
"Well you are free to go, gentlemen. I hope to see you in more auspicious circumstances next time." He turned towards the guards again. "Close the gates after they have left and then return to your posts until new orders." A voice from afar responded with a "Yes My Lord."
"Come, Effigy. I have an assignment for you. You will enjoy this." They both started walking towards the guardhouse where the former Sergeant of the Guard was awaiting his fate.

Effigy followed Constantine back to the guardhouse. During the walk he wondered what task Constantine had in mind for him, at the same time he wondered how he would tell him about the threat to the south. Better find out what he needs before I tell him the news that will make him hate me and cast me out, he thought.
As they walked he couldn't help but feel the ever present feeling they were being watched but every time Effigy looked for the source it was not found. "We being watched. Where we go safe? Words safe?" He asked constantine.

Drugo ran off. He realized his ride was going to leave in a couple of minutes. The docks were off in the distance and he charged forward. The boat men were about to release the strap to the boat until they saw Drugo run up and quickly jumped on the boat that was to go to the Blackwater region. In a short while he was on the boat he knew he was off on a short journey back home.

Kaelmourn moved forward out of the gate as it opened, disappearing out into the night with a soft growl of irritation at this delay. He would simply need to move faster. He started at a good jog out into the forests surrounding the city, eyes seeing through the darkness as if it were simple daylight. His movements were quick, precise, never skipping a beat through the forest as if he were in a grassy meadow, whereas others might trip or struggle getting through such terrain. And it was like such that he disappeared off, to perhaps never be seen by the city again, at least not on friendly terms.
(If Cloud and Constantine want to continue their roleplay, they may. Otherwise they can keep this new assignment for the orc a secret, and we can call it here)

He could feel the restlessness of the or as they approached the Guard House. "What is wrong? Why are you looking around so much? Is someone following us?" He listened to the orc and started to get worried. Maybe there was something happening. Maybe he as a human couldn't feel it. From what he remembers the orcs have sharp senses so it made sense that he could feel that something is wrong. "You want to know if we can talk safely? Do you fear we may be watched with magic?" He stopped the orc and waited for his answers.

Drunkenly wandering through a dark forest unknown to him, and using his inherent magic to light his way, Lorrkin walked the forest searching for a suitable place to set his hammock for the night. He hadn't even though of shaping into a human, for he thought no one could possible be this deep in a forest this late in the evening.
