Ah so you would like ports to sorta connect as far as needing to have hexes adjacent to each other for resource gain. Very easy and do able. I think I shall use that idea gimme more.

yea and maybe one can hitch a weekly ride from one port to another. I think you wound need to start your week on one port and use your whole week to travel to the next port. it takes so long cause you are hitching a ride with the trade ship.

ok i like a lot of what you two have going here but i have one thing I want added to the ports. They have to let you connect your nation to other hexes with port. I think someone had the idea of trade routes, and I know I said they should need a dedicated boat. By having ports connected it would make island nations a viable option. Because right now there is no way to gain the income from an island hex. That is what my proposed harbor dose, allows for trade routes to be established. In my mind trade routes for Harbors work like this. Nation A(NA from now on) builds a Harbor in City A(NACA From now on.) NA also bilds a Harbor in City B(NACB) Now NA has 2 city's with harbors and could conduct trade between them. However NACC has no harbor so it can NOT conduct trade via Harbor Now lets say Nation B(NB) builds a harbor in their City A(NBCA) they can now conduct trade via trade routs with NACA and NACB but NOT with NACC. Also to note that each Harbor comes with a Small Single mast slow defenseless ship that can only be used for trade. My proposed Caravansary works the same way as harbors except the ship is replaced by a horse or camel with a cart.

I think I shall use that idea gimme more. something like this could work if say a Mine in a far flung region or a remote island is connected some how to a port(Road, Adjacent Tile ect ect) and that port takes a trade rout to another port that is some how connected to the capital via something(again Road, Adjacent Tile, unbroken claimed land ect ect.) I would be wary tho of the amount of time it takes a resource to travel to the capital and instatte some sorta scaling devaluation to represent the resource used to transport the product.

The Pirates can get behind a good port system.
