A man stands before the assembled crowd, voices of dissent echos all around, alliances are forming and dissolving in the air, as a thin tall man, his long black hair frazzled with various bits of leaves trapped within, wearing a torn, burned red robe climbs atop a table carrying a scythe, the metal discolored, the wood black charred. Upon his forehead the light dances off the shining silver embeded in his skin, the image of twisted antlers, extending to his hairline. His grey eyes look over the heads of the assembled. He raps his scythe on the table 3 times, calling the room to silence. "My fellow people, I realize, that right now is a time of great," he closes his eyes, a smile creeps on his face as a half laugh escapes his mouth, "CHAOS! And my friends, I can hear you all calling out, screaming out to organize against it, to fight futally against it like the bird in the sky against the raging wind. My friends, that only leads us to die, exhausted and alone, as everything we know and love is cast to the winds, swept away as we struggle on, fighting...." His voice trails off as he looks down upon the gathered souls as if in pity, allowing his words to sink in during the silence. "However," he says, slowly nodding his head, "there is another way my dear friends. I was once like you, I once slaved away, attempting to change my fate, attempting to change the very sands of time itself," raising one finger to his head, covered in char from his scythe, he points to the silver symbol engraved in his forehead, "until I found the solution, until I surrendered to my fate, and was chosen, CHOSEN to be the messenger of the beautiful Goddess Beshaba. I was struck down by the lightning from the sky, STRUCK DOWN to my death, but I was saved, I was saved by the Goddess and sent to bring forth her word to the world. To bring to you, her children, the message that you don't have to struggle, you don't have to be a lost bird struggling against the wind, wasting your life, no. You can embrace the wind and soar ever higher into the sky, embrace your destiny as it leads you to new heights, embrace the Goddess, and let us ride the winds of fate together!" With a dramatic toss downward, he throws a smoldering piece of paper into a cup at his feet, and laughs as it ignites, shooting a puff of flame into the air. 1. The Followers of the Goddess Beshaba 2. 3. A collection of followers of Mercutio, the chosen scion of the Goddess Beshaba. No clear structure is perceivable other than Mercutio delivering the word of the Goddess to save the world from its pointless struggles.

No Cult shall stand in the way of our Rosy Cross Of Truth. May our Order never cross blade or wand for we shall always prevail.

Do not listen to this man's LIES. He speaks of the futility of order but doesn't understand that together as ONE... we can overcome ANY trial. What you must understand is that it IS Beshaba herself who has created these winds of chaos to drive men mad with fear. Do NOT become a part of the problem yourselves for it more honorable to defy your fate and into your doom than it is to give up and BECOME a part of the problem out of petty FEAR. The winds of chaos may carry you high but will inevitably bring you crashing down. Do not worry though there exists salvation for all of the lost souls out there, the just God St Cuthbert can provide you with redemption so long as you REPENT. He controls another guiding force in the cosmos, the winds of TRUTH and with them you can trust that your lives will follow a consistent and enjoyable path.

Mercutio stands still, a blank stare on his face. He yawns a bit, and then in a quiet voice, forcing silence to fall so that you can hear, "Are you done squabbling children? If your god is so mighty that they can so defy the winds of change, why is it that your order is begging for us to repent? Why are you asking the people to willingly give up their joy, and the worldly pleasure in order to die futilely in some quest for good that will only end in a worthless death?" Mercutio sits down on the table, and grabs a glass of ale from the passing waitress's tray, and takes a generous drink, "Why would you condemn your fellows to such a sad and pointless struggle?" He pauses for a second, looking around the room, making eye contact with each and every person. His face then explodes in a smile and his voice booms outward, "When I just want to free the people, so that they may live a glorious life and awaken everyday knowing that the Great Goddess Beshaba protects them from that which would do them harm, so that they may LIVE, without fear, without suffering, without those that would enforce their rules upon them!" Raising his cup in the air, he points his scythe at the two gentlemen, "You gentlemen have no place here, and I will see to it, that these people are free from your tyranny." Finishing the rest of his drink, and reaching into his pocket, he pulls out a handful of silver and tosses it to the gathered crowd, "Drinks are on me, for today the Glory of Beshaba shines upon us!"

"END THIS MADNESS" Friedrich commands as he climbs up one of the tables to elevate himself. The crowd turning back and staring in awe at his splendor... As the sound of a few dropped coins fades away he opens his mouth and asks "is it truly pointless and worthless to die in service corruption and "pleasure"?" He looks down and points to Mercutio "pointless and worthless to die an honorable and pure life Like this man is suggesting". He steps down from the table and walks slowly towards Mercutio as the crowd divides itself to let him pass... the light of the rising sun pouring through the windows glistens as it reflects off of his armor and the precious red gems embedded within it. "You value your freedom as if it were the only thing that mattered. But what of Truth, Love, Security and Justice? Do you wish to "free" the people from these things as well?" continuing his march he turns to both his sides, making eye contact with the patrons of the bar. "Where your goddess offers the people a bribe, serve or suffer, mine offers fair judgement." He now stands directly across from Mercutio and staring directly at him with a piercing glare he explains "I have had THE visions and on the day of reckoning St Cuthbert will reign judgement on scum like you and he is in no way a merciful God". With a wave of his hand the glasses fill up with fine whine. "Keep your money everybody, the drinks here taste of muddy water and dog piss. Praise to the almighty St Cuthbert"

Mercutio lets out a slight cough, "Sir, you are being disruptive to these poor people who wish to simply have a discussion and enjoy their evening. Not only that but you are disrespecting the fine owners of this establishment that were kind enough to take us in this day." Letting out a sigh, "I am afraid I must ask you politely to leave good sir, for your rants and calls to your authority have no place here. Must you be so warlike in all aspects? IS that why you must hide behind your armor and weapons? I wear no such armor because I have nothing to fear from the good people of this land. I walk with the Goddess Beshaba's protection, which is stronger than any steel." Pointing a finger to the door, "I think it would be best for all involved if you were to vacate the premises before any further disruption of these good people's lives ensues."

Friedrich swiftly turns his back away from Mercutio. His magnificent cape fluttering in the air "I do not concern myself with moral of the people,I only care for the truth and I do not care who I insult". "Clearly your men here are blinded by your lies. They cannot be redeemed and my time here is done. I fervently hope that you are some day brought back to the light and chose to serve the forces of order rather than those that seek to spread chaos, but I'm afraid all hope is already lost." and with the sound of the blunt doors colliding with the bar's walls the two men fade into the distance as they walk towards the horizon. (In all seriousness, I envy your amazing role playing ability and look forward to being your rival in this epic struggle between law and chaos)

"Well, now that we have cleared the air, a toast! A toast to the Great Goddess Beshaba and her many blessings upon us!" Mercutio grabs another glass and generously swills it down. "Hopefully we can enjoy a nights repast and relaxation without further stories of doom and crusades. Let us feast, and drink, and enjoy this night, for we are alive!"

"alive... alive you say" says the cloaked women leaning along the wall "Is a life of chaos truly a life you wish to live!?"(addressed towards the crowd) she stands up and starts to walk "do you truly wish to have your fate controlled by some CRAZED GODDESS and her drunken FOOLS?!" (clearly pointing towards Mercutio) with grin on her face she continues "chaos is but and excuse for the insane and evil to do as they please" she stands in front of and removes her cloak reveiling the face of a young white hair human "How many of you here have lost someone near to them by bandit, marauders, murderers or pirates, and you know what drove them to take that life?" Looking into the eyes of Mercutio while she displays emotion from the past. "this man beloved CHAOS That he speaks so highly of" the crowd applauses in agreement "My order while bring justice to those who have perished in the name of THIS MAN'S "CHAOS"" the crowed begins to cheer "Under the Zeal of Our lord Cuthbert you should parish for the the lives lost by YOUR BELOVED CHAOS" placing a dagger along Mercutio's throught "Alas Unlike our Lord, I am merciful too a point but beware unlike the rest of the order I am not soft and If your CULT cause more "Chaos" I will hesitate to burn to the ground whether my order allows me too or not" The Crowed is stunned as the white hair girl walks away with at demon like creature (who appearred ouside the building for it was too large in size to enter it) follows the maiden as she leaves from sight.

"Seriously? Was there like a sale down at the crazy zealot shop today I didn't know about?" Mercutio reaches behind him and grabs another beverage, "I mean, there has to someone here other than followers of" taking on a mocking tone and rolling his eyes "the Saint Cutbert or whatever his name is. I mean how the hell are these crazed fools luring in more people? I'm at least 90% sure my drugs are better than theirs." Taking another drink, "These fools offer you a life of struggle, and pain, and struggle, and more pain, to die in some muck in some god forsaken place where no one has ever thought about going on holiday, and they apparently have people lining up at the door to sign up and throw their life away." Finishing the drink and tossing the cup casually over his shoulder, Mercutio pulls himself up by his scythe and looks around once more, "I offer you, a life free of the worries and problems these people throw at you, these, THESE are the people I am trying to save you from. I buy you drinks bring you into the Great Goddess Beshaba's protection, and ask for nothing in return, except your thanks. For I am nothing but a humble servant of my lady." Mercutio pulls out a piece of paper from his pocket and looks at it longingly, strokes it absent mindedly. "For who else could merit such devotion, than she that saves us from our struggle." He holds the picture up and shows it to the people, "Behold the visage of the Great Goddess who offers you her blessing." "This is the vision that greeted me upon awakening to this new life, after having my life saved by the Goddess." Mercutio pauses for a moment, a blankness washes over his face and then he regains his composure, "And can you say you would do any different, than to go out into the world and try to bring others into her loving embrace?" Mercutio carefully folds the paper and puts it back in his pocket. "The Great Goddess welcomes all who wish to serve, let none be turned away, and extends her blessing to all! Join us in saving this world from those who would oppress it!"

"Now I feel sorry that I didn't make Mak teach me a silence spell. I could have enjoyed my ale in silence. Damn zealots and their blabbering. Maybe I could put some sleep potion into their drinks." This is what was going through the young man's mind. He was seated in a dark corner of the inn out of sight of most people. His clothes were simple, practical. Near his leg there was a backpack and leaning against a wall was his quarterstaff. "I guess I could go and get some air." He finishes his ale, takes his things and heads towards the exit. "I'll go sit on that stump on the other side of the road. I can read and keep an eye on the entrance. Maybe I'll even call Mak so I have some company".

Mercutio, seeing a man heading for the door, "You there sir," pulling up the torn bottom of his robe, he heads for the door to intercept the would be escapist. "My friend, why do you leave in such a hurry. Was the ale not to your liking? Perhaps a nice brandy would better suit you" Mercutio signals to the bartender and throws his empty arm around the shoulders of the man and begins to guide him back towards the room, then pulls up suddenly, smacking himself with handle of his scythe, "Oh, where are my manners, I'm sorry my fine lad, the constant intrusions upon my conversations with these lovely people by these crazed zealots has made me forget my manners." Taking his arm back and giving the most grand parody of a bow as he could, "Allow me to introduce myself, I am the humble scion of the Great Goddess Beshaba, but you may call me Mercutio." Bringing himself back up, and giving a rolling gesture with his hand, "And what pray tel may I address you as my good sir?" Behind him a waitress set down two glasses, gives a slightly aggitated sigh, and wanders back into the crowd.

"I am Constantine and if you are offering ale I'm afraid I can't refuse you." He heads for the table and takes a seat. "I have heard your quarrels with those zealots and I must say I'm intrigued. Tell me more about your godess." He sets his backpack on the floor. "Thank you for the ale."

Mercutio hands one cup over, "Ah, yes, you are a member of Vei*coughcough*urheim's court are you not? I met with your leader just the other day and found him to be a most agreeable fellow." Picking up the remaining cup he swirls it thoughtfully, then lets forth a rather deep sigh, "There too these... "Cutters" as I like to call them dog my footsteps and even burst into a private hearing with your lord. It seems they have not even the slightest respect for etiquette these days, what is the world coming to." Taking a swig from the cup he perks up "But alas, I digress, you do not wish to know of my troubles, nor in the grisly end that awaits them should they keep pushing their luck... You wish to know about the Great Goddess to whom I pledge my life and loyalty! Well, where to begin? Shall I tell the story of how I came to the Great Goddess, or of her story and how she came to this land? Or is it that you have not even heard the word of the Goddess and wish to know everything? If the latter and not the former than I do believe we will need quite a few more ales before the tale is done."

"Start with the beginning. I want to hear it all. Time is not a problem, for now." He sips his ale. "Knowledge, be it of mortals or of gods, is my quest." He takes another sip then falls silent, expecting the stories to come.
