It was the mandate of unseen gods, wrought to fruition by a tribe without question, and all it took was the voice of the hobgoblin warchief to cause it. He heard the word of his gods and saw the deed through. Then un-named, Telleroth was burnt and scarred at the stake by his tribe. Their actions were those of their gods and the gods would decide if this walking Misfortune of a hobgoblin would survive through his strength or die screaming. Unfortunately for his tribe, he survived. The warchief didn't foresee the blade that slid deep into his spine, and the unseen gods did not warn him of the flames that burned his paralyzed body alive in the fields. These gods did not warn the tribe of the Misfortune's return and what it would entail. The newly christened Telleroth became the god that plagued his tribe, and their plague took the form of a life of slavery. Marauder's hands built the towns of Calamity in the form of those they had previously terrorized, a more fitting condemnation than death for these once proud warmongers. Telleroth took these measures to ensure that his tormentors and their children would live to fully experience this humiliation for the betterment of the gifted, who would have been stifled by their brutal ways. Among the scant few that escaped this fate, Tara, an outcast hobgoblin herself, due to her infernal heritage, assisted the noble cavalier in this endeavor and has pledged her service to the extension of his dominion. More importantly, they seek to show this world that within every individual there is a god waiting to be born, through pain, through intelligence, through triumph or through any means necessary. Calamity is a nation born of reason, predestined to grow to by the very truth of the bedrock upon which it was founded. We will build a nation upon the principle of power justifying itself. Telleroth has brought this lesson to the hobgoblins of Calamity and opens the nation to those who would prosper in their unique ways. Anyone who is without need for the lingering moral structures of unseen gods has a place to grow into gods themselves. Power justifies power.

HERESY! You are no God and power is no way way to attain such recognition. To my knowledge there is only one God who has ever been a man, and his name is St Cuthbert. His ascension was not a product of power but a result of his virtue and honor. Heed these words of wisdom for we are only mere mortals and must know our place in this world. If you continue spreading this filth you will only incur St Cuthbert's wrath further.

I must disagree, as respectfully as I can, with these disparaging remarks. Do not mistake my godhood for something unique, for I surround myself with gods who also walk among us. It is a pity that your own evident power is attributed to the image of a dead saint, and by your own choice even. I wonder what this veil of humility does for you. Even more curious is the purpose that your humility serves. Do you feel comforted, spreading this holy wrath wherever you go, knowing that it will be attributed to a dead man instead of yourself?
You are right to say that we are mortals. Your precious saint was mortal as well. Now all that is left of him is a word, spread by the mouths of other mortals. The era of dead saints is drawing to a close, my friend, and I am here to show those that would be gods among us that the time is ripe to rise.
Seek shelter in Calamity, those of you who would escape oppression such as this.

Well, I know who I might be joining if my Ranger kicks the bucket. In another life, Telleroth, we'll grow to be the powers of this world and all shall know our name. But not today, not this time.

Should the tide turn against you, keep us in mind. The only judgement in Calamity comes from the outside looking in. My steed is called Oathbreaker for a good reason.

Hobgoblins are great fun! I've played those before; even loosely ran a kingdom of them (this was before the Kingdom rules, though, so it was mostly role-play).

You are the delusional one. You tried to turn goblins gay. How is that not delusional?
Is this forum in character?
But i like you anyways.

They were humans, not goblins, and I simply asked a reasonable question of if they were able to be attracted to my character.

Bringing the topic back from the sexuality of randomly encountered folks:
Calamity stands alone as a nation who puts its citizens' well being above any other cause. Calamity exists as home to reason. Calamites care not for petty labels of others: "evil," "unpredictable," "power hungry," etc.
If you're looking for an unsafe home, fellow citizens set on mayhem and looting, a good time generally, Calamity is utopia.

Some may consider you washed-up, but among us Calamites you are a jewel in the rough. Upon expansion to the coast, you will be given comand of a ship to do with what you please.

Fear not the hobgoblin worker caste, for they know their place. Calamity is a free nation for all who aknowledge their own potential apart from the sheep.
