"why yes that would be nice when the time rises, although i think its best we tend to our tools of the trade instead" she whips out a small kit and starts pounding away and tinkering with the musket cleaning it and smoothing out dings along it. "and hearing another compliment from aegis start wiggling her tail " why thank you"

"So aegis how are you at cooking some owlbear steaks? what kind of spice do you use? Perhaps that noble fancy pants will allow for some taste sensations" he says curiously while eating Aegis's cooking.

" No idea." Aegis replied. " They are not so common that I have had the chance to cook one. However I think i can make some amazing cloaks from their fur."

"Thats what necromancers are for why risk handling an animal so wild when you can just end it and send it against your foes?" Kaia says softly while finishing up her musket work

The parties left. The sun set and rose again. Slowly the hunter limped into the courtyard supporting the giant. He made it halfway to the door before collapsing.
Aegis felt the cobble stones hit him. The pain almost killed him, but it came with clarity. He could feel the gaping wounds in his neck and stomach. It was soul wracking but slowly he raised his hand, and concentrated. He took it slowly. He would not get another chance at the spell. Competing the invocation he felt his form shift. Slowly; painfully the worst of the wounds closed. Gasping he rested for a moment before casting again. It hurt but less so. After the last spell was finished he was finally able to stand. He looked around. Spotting the ranger passed out in the court yard it all came back to him in a flash. Taking the new recruits out for a hunt. The sudden attack of the wolves had seemed a good opportunity. What a fool he had been, and the others had paid for his hubris.
Now only the ranger remained. Gently he picked up his fallen rescuer, and carried him inside. He found a bed and did his best to bandage the man. He hoped it was enough.Slowly numbly he stumbled into the common room and collapsed in a chair. Soon the dreams of the dead followed.

(week prior) Ahh...bags are packed. (Looking out the view of the castle) Ahh the village is well underway and the castle is shaping up nicely Sven talked to himself. The castle was a buzz. The Commander had ordered a force to march and tackle a border issue. "The excitement grew even more when seeing his armor shinny sitting on a stand" ahh it will be good to get back into battle. "donning the armor and taking one last look out the window to the view of the forest from his room. Hoping to the gods Asmodeus and Iomedae to see that he either returns here with honor or die bravely in battle singing his own death song in face of his enemy.

Wolves. It had only been wolves against the five of them. Kerzer had spent his entire life fighting animals and honing himself to best kill the things, but in the end they had still proved to much for himself and the rest of his companions. All that he was going to be able to think about for days now was wondering how he could have done better and saved his new companions, or at the very least rescued one of them as he saved his own skin instead of sticking around to save the others who had fought so bravely.
When Aegis and himself had returned to the castle it was a brutal escape. They were both leaning on each other and using each other for support so they could actual make it back to the castle. Once they had made it there and into the courtyard the last images Kerzer had of Aegis was him casting spells to cure his wounds and that was when Kerzer passed out. During his unconsciousness he could feel his body being jostled around as something moved him, immediately his mind flashed back to the wolves and his eyes fluttered open, only to see Aegis carrying him into the castle and that was the last image he saw before he passed back out for hours and hours.
Kerzer was going to need a lot of bed rest with the amount of wounds he had suffered in battle, but that wasn't going to stop him from trying to help out around the place as soon as he could reliably walk around. After his first nights sleep when he awakens he will be going out into the castle to find Aegis and check on him to make sure he is okay. He would prefer to spend his time recovering with a great ally, then laying in a bed for days at a time 'recovering his strength'.

Aegis had shifted back to his human form in sleep. His form seemed small now. Like a child compared to the monster that had led them from the castle. He shook in his sleep. Fighting or running from something only in his dreams. If one sat by long enough he would start to cry out in his sleep, or just begin crying.
Then the chanting started. (Alko for any with the skill) He spoke in a tongue that no human mind had created. Words that seemed to twist in the ear as one heard them. As he chanted his form would shift; twisting between monster and man. Just as any observer would have had to much to take Aegis bolted awake in a cold sweat screaming.
Aegis fell from his seat and scrambled to the chamber pot. He felt his innards try to escape his mouth as he wretched violently. When he finished there was blood in the pot; The leftovers from his healing last night. That was how it was when he had to blend himself that tightly to his other form. Eidolon blood was just not something the body could process so his had to rid himself of it in some other way.
'No time to feel sorry for myself' he thought. 'There is something left to be done.' Slowly he picked himself up and gathered the three weapons. He needed to put his friends to rest.
(as a note the hawks always bring back the weapons of the fallen to serve as a tombstone. They can't be taken up as a weapon again or removed from the castle. They are purely for RP.)

Kerzer had heard something from somewhere in the castle, something that had sounded like chanting, but he put it off to the side as him hearing things caused by his wounds. He continued to look for Aegis and when he found him he could tell what he was going to be doing here soon, putting his comrades to rest. Aegis did not look in the least bit rested, in reality he looked to Kerzer as if he had been up tossing and turning all night in his sleep, perhaps the sounds that Kerzer thought he had heard were moans coming from Aegis' room, but he put those thoughts aside as well for it was time to bury their companions.
Kerzer had never been involved in a burial ceremony with the Hawks, but he had to assume it involved their weapons since their were no bodies to be buried after what the wolves had done to them. "So, can you explain the Hawks burial ceremony to me Aegis? I didn't expect to be burying some of my companions after my first hunt with them...those damn wolves." Kerzer said towards Aegis as he looked at the weapons of his dead comrades that were obviously going to be used in the burial ceremony, he just wasn't sure exactly how they were going to be used.
