I am a druid and have a plan of becoming a solitary hermit living in a forest where I've made my grove. I thought the best way to become a quest giver would be to have an unique incentive. So I was thinking to build a strong crafter so that people would want to come to me with their item needs and I could trade my services for random things that I want.

On another read of the rules I noticed that for crafting a guild may be formed and that secondary crafters may add 1/2 of their crafting skill to the crafting of the item. This process could very well create better items than me and has put me somewhat at a loss as to how to compete with this without creating a guild of my own.

The answer is to join a faction and become their supplier of magical items so they don't need to go to the guild. The Blackwater Pirates will supply you all the money you need to craft your items should you join us for now. First we just need to get back to the city so we can access the coffers.

Valencia will do the same. You will be provided with either money or raw materials, and I think I might even have an assistant for you down the road

Well I will have to give some thought to which faction to join in all honesty it will come from role playing more than discussion on the forums. I'd rather in this thread discuss how I could best become a quest giver and I think that hinges on my ability to create things unique enough that I will need to be sought out.
As I've given this some thought I'm not sure I can compete with a wizards wondrous crafting, but with being a Druid and maybe some tree ent npcs I could become a wonderful crafter of wood, think boats, war vehicles, walls and towers, think ironwood or greenwood or darkwood. What do you guys think about the viability or the sustainability of becoming the best boat maker in the realm?

Actually, Druids have a very decent spell list. And since you can effectively make any of your spells into an item, you would do very well with Craft Wondrous Items feat. You might not be quite a versatile as a Wizard, but only by a veeery small margin, and there are even some divine spells you have that wizards dont.

Well the wizard is going to have a much better spell crafting check than I am for example someone was showing me their lvl 1 witch with 16 spell craft in comparison to my 7. Also most of the wondrous item are arcane spells less than a 1/3 are divine. I really need to find a list separating them though

Just use Magic item Creation rules. Since they are 1st party, you are allowed to use them. And they allow you to make ANY of your spells into an item. As for spellcraft: At level 1 you can have 1 from skill point 3 from having it as class skill 1 from INT (if you wanna have INT 12) 1 from Classically Schooled trait 3 from skill focus Total: 9 Reason you dont have it as High as a witch, is because witches are INT based. However, at higher levels the difference will be small, as you can get spells to boost your INT, spells to boost your skill checks, and items to boost your skill checks. You can also get someone to help you, which also provides a bonus. Oh, and lets not forget Item Familiar, which can be some druid staff. The item familiar will give you a +1 bonus to skill points, for every 3 you use.

This idea would be really fascinating with a dash of hidden agenda thrown in the mix. I'm not sure what commodities are worth questing for in this game but playing members of other factions for/against each other for whatever it is you're doling out could be quite interesting

May I recommend the Reincarnated Druid archetype? With this, even if you get on someone's bad side, and die, you get auto-revived once per week.

Since they are 1st party, you are allowed to use them. There is a system for crafting items in the Realm of Calidor Rulebook. These rules take precedent before any Paizo rules. Please read them thoroughly as an understanding of them is important for anyone who wishes to craft items.

And what about crafting wondrous items? Or Scrolls? Or Wands?

So, If I want to craft a magic wand, I just need a lumber mill, and then I go by the appropriate RAW rules?
