Hi, I'm a fairly new member to this community (I've joined two days ago) and I absolutely enjoy the scale at which the role-playing is going on in this game.
However, I've noticed that as more people add threads in the In-Character Forum it might get harder to get a sense of what times things are happening. I noticed this
as Sadris/Sarah/Aegoth/Hal/Constantine/Effigy all appear to be at the same inn doing different things at different times. I propose that we create a date/time system
and that we require everyone to mark the in-game date/time of the threads in the in-character forum so that we can have a better sense of when events are taking
place.

To be honest, I role played Hal as is. I never put him in somewhere else beside the thread I have created (two of them, one which already ended), though I'm very happy to have follow up role players (as I read it with joyful glee). I'm thinking of joining other role playing thread only if that makes sense, such as other characters mention my character, or at the same city or area. Date or time system might be too handful in my opinion, so I'm suggesting for easier method, and that is condition description/requirement. The starter of the thread (if he desire so) should mention the place where the role play started and at what time (morning, noon, afternoon, evening or night), also if he wants to be specific, add the characters he wants to or allowed to role play in that thread. If he wants the role play thread to be open for public, he can simply say so. For example:
Place: Super Duper Rowdy Inn and Tavern, Blackwater Pirates cove Time: Evening Participant: Any PC on the area <---- this mean, if you're in the area, you can just jump in and join (if you dare to have drink with pirates) Invitation: Any pirates <---- this mean any pirates on the area are actively invited for a rowdy night at the tavern
As you can see, this might help the role plays to be more focused or specific should the thread starter desire to be so. Although I tend to let mine as open as possible. b(^_^)d Awaiting replies and comments.

I'm gonna adjust my proposal and add on place (as you suggested Hal). However, I don't think adding date/time/place will be too much of a handful (I'm just suggesting writing down the date/time/place on the title of the thread you start)
The thing is that it is easy now to know what threads make sense to join because we currently have a fairly small number of people. However, with the rate at which our character plots develop and the rate at which new players join the community I believe that we will need a date/time/place system so that we can maintain continuity.
Example: Right now Hal/The Wizard/Effigy/and Aegoth are at the city tavern at a certain time and place. In another thread Sendria is working on alchemy at the same tavern at another time and place. In another thread Sarah(Celestial-born) has just entered the same tavern and encountered Effigy and Constantine at another time and place. At the same time in another thread a bard is singing in some place in the city. It's already an issue and stating in the Title of the thread the date/time/place will allow us to know when and where events are unfolding.
In addition to building continuity we are also allowing the player to freely develop his character, but in a way that makes sense to the in-game world. What I've noticed is that every player doesn't sync all our plots with each other. (By that I mean that we don't check whats going on with every other character in the city before writing about ourselves) To compensate for that a date/time/place system will allow us to at least synchronize the time/place we do things so that the overall story of the world flows more naturally. It will also make it easier for a newbie player to weave his character into the world.
It will allow us to build up a shared history. I think that it would be really cool later down the line to see how the various characters have interacted and developed towards becoming who they are. (Like on Year 500 Aegoth arrives in the city, Year 501 he has acquired enough riches to start his own thieves guild, Year 503 he has begun expanding his network to other cities) It also makes this game more attractive to the newbie player wondering whether he should join. (For example: "Look at this character, he started as a rookie rogue and is now the master of his own guild!" "Even better you can read about his journey on forums. The date/time of each thread is also marked so you don't get totally confused trying to figure out which thread begins at which time!")

Yeah i think this is a great suggestion. I will start adding time stamps to my new threads because as of now it's a bit had to follow the timelines.
