Claus and Gortrex gathered enough deadwood lying around and quickly made a makeshift sled. Using their rope, they attached the sled to the horse and hauled their prize onto the sled. Claus again tended the other horse who got mangled up by the wolves from their earlier hunt. "Well, I've cast another healing spell on the horse. By the end of the week, he'll be good as new."

Kerzer walks over to his horse that was on the ground worn out from the beating it had taken from the wolves. "Good boy, I know how you feel those damn wolves get the best of me every time as well" Kerzer was petting the horse as he talked to it, he knew that horses generally only laid on the ground if they were not feeling well. "Let's get you home boy. Time to go guys!"

Claus walked home with the party. It had been a pretty interesting week. "Ho, ho, ho. It's been a long week. Time to hit the sack." Claus interjected. And his nights were filled with dreams of giant wind-up toys, walking armors and flying carpets."

"Sounds like a plan" Kerzer said as he unloaded the boar and deer off at the kitchens so that it could be prepared for the evening prior. "It has been a long day" Kerzer said to himself as he lay down in his bed passing out.

Claus hears the baying of wolves. He finds himself all alone. A veiled mist envelopes the area, from as far as his eyes can see. Claus, of dwarven blood, is unfazed at the sight of the wolf pack. What fazed him though, is the fact that he is wielding a pillow. He looked at himself, and he saw himself wearing pyjamas. Biggest mistake. Rule number 1: Never - even for a second - take yer eyes off the enemies. The wolves lunged at him all at the same time. What's weirder than what he's wearing and what he's wielding is the sound coming from the wolves - is that thunder? the roar of the ocean? Why am I not seeing my life flash before me? The alpha wolf's fangs are bared and he's staring right at it.
Claus woke up with a start. He was actually dreaming. He looked about in his room. He saw Gortrix lying on the floor, at the foot of his bed, snoring so loud it can wake the whole town. "Linium's light hammer, best I remind meself to craft me some ear muffs," Claus grumbled and he buried himself under his pillow and tried to get back to sleep.

Kerzer couldn't sleep well that night after the hunting this week. His mind kept wandering back to the wolves that yet again he couldn't kill all of and had to run away from again. This time luckily none of the people he had taken out with him had died, but his trusty horse that he had for a few months now almost bit the dust, thankfully Claus healed it back up and it was good as new now, but those wolves were still out there.
He quickly got up out of his bed and dressed in his ranger's attire and set off to the archery range to check his aim. Bulls Eye after Bulls Eye Kerzer drilled the target, why couldn't he do this against the wolves, there must be a reason...did he care about the wolves, did he want one for his own and that is why he couldn't kill them...

Claus couldn't go back to sleep because of Gortrex' loud snoring. "Really need to make those ear muffs," grumbled Claus. He changed into warmer clothes [his favorite red fur coat] and went outside for a breath of fresh air. Once outside, he heard a series of thudding sounds. "Ho, ho, ho. It seems to come from the archery range. I guess am not the only one having trouble sleeping."
He went to the archery range and saw the mighty power ranger letting fly a few arrow shots, all at the same bulls eye mark.
"Well met, Kerzer."

"Ello Claus" Kerzer said without taking his eyes off of two targets sitting side by side one another. He rapidly drew two arrows and shot them both in quick succession, the one on the left landing directly in the bull's eye and the one on the right slightly outside of the bull's eye by about a thumb's width. "That is the first one I have missed tonight" Kerzer said to Claus as he leaned against his bow now facing Claus, "though from this distance many people might not be able to tell it didn't hit the bull's eye."

Claus nodded. He gave the mighty ranger a long hard look. "Ye seem troubled me friend. I can sense it. Don't ask me how, but I could. What ails ye?"

"It is the damn wolves Claus" Kerzer began "everytime I have faced them my arrows don't fly true, it is like I don't want to strike them or something, I feel like we have a bond that I don't want because they have killed my companions and caused me so many woes, but for some reason I can't bring myself to kill them." Irritated with himself Kerzer went back to shooting at the targets rotating between the five of them.

"Hmm..." Claus pondered at the ranger's revelation for a few minutes, all the while watching the ranger let loose arrows with unerring accuracy. "Affinity with beasts or other manners of creature is totally not unheard of. Ye might need to look deep into yer heart to see if it holds true in your case mighty ranger."
Claus face brightened, "But fret not. You know what they say, 'Experience is the best teacher.'" Claus hastily wrote down what he said in a little book.
"Something tells me that ye'll find yer answers soon enough. Sooner than ye might think. Ho, ho, ho."

"Let us hope I find the answer sooner rather than later, lest we end up running into more wolves and I won't be able to stop them again. It could be more than the horse next time Claus, like it was the first time, it could be you, Gortrix, hell it could be even me the way I miss against them." Kerzer said as he stopped firing at the targets to listen to Claus' wise words. "Perhaps there is something about them that makes me not be able to shoot them, but hopefully that will be resolved...hopefully."

"Ho, ho, ho, ho-hum." Now, Mr. Sandman is trying to get me back to dreamland. "Good night mighty ranger." We need to rise early and be prepared for another hunt. But I'm sure ye know that."

"I'll go to bed in a bit, think I still could use some more practice" Kerzer said as he waved Claus off to bed and started shooting at the targets again, bull's eye, bull's eye....bull's eye.
