Okay, so I've ended up joining a faction which, through no fault of their own, can't really accomodate for any times I'm likely to be online, meaning I haven't actually played a game or even had my character sheet approved, as far as I know. As well as this, I've developed a preference to another character I've made which, obviously, I haven't brought to ROC yet. My initial idea was to simply change my account name and make some sort of post saying I was switching character since I hadn't even been approved for play, but then I realised I had a bit of RP gold, so I figured I might be called out for cheating. Would somebody like to clarify how one should switch characters at this stage?

First things first, RP gold will not carry over to the new guy. As for How to go about starting a new Character. there are 2 major options.
1 Kill off your current one 2 Simply Abandon you current one. In that case you send a GM a letter saying you are doing so.

I know RP gold isn't supposed to carry over, I was just wondering if I had to make a new account or not, and if not whether a magistrate would deduct the rp gold from my account.
And I guess I'll abandon old Adrian, then. The poor guy had triple burning hands damage. Shame he never got to use it.

No, a new account is not needed. If you truly want to use Adrian, you can always change his name and make him your new back up.
