"Ho, ho, ho. Indeed. I'm almost done with the mithral wakizashis. Gortrix have run with the ninth battalion and learned a few secrets we'd like to try out next week. Ho, ho, ho." Claus remarked as he took a swig of cider ale.

" you laugh." Aegis sneered in a tone of voice none of them had heard before. It was bitter, angry, and dripping hate. " You think little pieces of metal will stop them. But they are not like anything you have seen. They can reach inside you and find the parts that make you a person. It's hard to pull a trigger when all you can think of is how nice it will be to have your brain devoured by your new god."
"Trust me. I know. "

"Oh, I would definitely take yer word for it commander. I have spent most of me life locked in a cavernous room, drawing crazy plans and such. I defer to yer adventuring experience and I'm pretty sure Sona sees the wisdom in what ye say as well," Claus remarked.

Aye, tis true I served with the 9th Battalion back when I was a wee beardling fresh from me mothers teet. Good bunch....We had to make do with what we had in the underdark. Aye evil things lurk down in the bowels of the earth. huhu aye it would make any manling run back home. See Santa ere gots a good idea of staying away from the fight. He will become a greybeard sure enough. We be needen some master crafters in the future cause tis truly a dieing art. All the greats have passed to the ancestors, stone take them. bah....However for me..I didnt meet me doom with the 9th. Noo..nothing down below was worthy enough to fell me with what ever trickery it be trying. Anyways we used some different ways to improve the heat from the flame in regards to the craften..

Sona stops and falls grave expressions on her face and tries to apologize but just casts her metal sloppily and steps out of the shop.

"Ho, ho, ho. Secrets indeed that we feel tis our duty to keep alive. And I intend to do so with all me heart or I'll have my lovely snow white fluffy beard shaved. By Linium's light hammer, this me swear."

Aegis watched Sona leave and let out a sigh. " Looks like I did it again." he mumbled. " Dam it." Standing up he followed Sona. It took him a few moments to catch up to her. When he came with in reach he spoke out. " Sorry about that. I lost my family at an early age to those things. I'm better about it then i used to be, but I still get lose it sometimes. It wasn't right of me to get mad like that. "

Claus and Gortrix both looked at the two people who left the room. "Those two definitely share a deeper bond than us." Gortrix looked at Claus. "Don't expect that type of bond me brudder. Ours is special. Non-dwarves wont understand that. Stone before bone I use to say." Claus hastily wrote down his newly invented saying.

Sona with wiped the tear from her eye "it's ok we all have something that get under us "she spreads her wings and gives aegis a good once over "only if i could turn of the monster in me" she starts beating her wings not getting as much lift as normal due to her saddened mood and self ostracizing.

"Okay. Since there aren't much going on right now, best I draw these modifications in the armor. Oh, we're so lucky to be a dwarf. Ho, ho, ho."
Claus grabbed a lead graphite writing rod. He started sketching the normal base for the armor and made a few minor adjustments to make the design more flexible. This areas of the armor are the ones I've seen that receives the most dents. I can make these parts a tad more solid to create a jarring effect. Hmm...I like where this is going. Ho, ho, ho."

Suddenly, a spare lead graphite writing rod lying on the table moves of its own accord. "Playing pranks on me again, milady?"
Ewanko let out a soft giggle. "I hope ye have not lost your sense of humor Master Claus." "Not a bit." Claus replied. "Well, a bit maybe. But only when I'm deeply focused on drawing me plans.
Ewanko peered over the jolly old dwarf's shoulder to take a look at the drawings.
"My, my, my. I see you are trying to make modifications." Ewanko shared her own insight.

Claus tried to incorporate Ewanko's inputs. "Hmmm... tis be harder than I thought to make it so that it won't reduce a humanoid's speed so much. Except fer dwarves of course. We're built fer speed. Slow and steady we goes if ye know what I mean. Ho, ho, ho."

"I agree. We might need to take a different approach. One that involves imbuing armors with magic. Give me enough time and I may be able to do so. Meanwhile, we have to make do with what we got."

herum..I says if its not done over a forge it just aint worth do-en it at-tall. I thinkin nothing can replace a good forge arm and the ancestors guidance on ye when craften. Elf magic can fade over time, however a good Dwarf craft can last ages and never succumb to rust.
