At Ravenview Xario split from the Shieldcaptain's crew to do some studying in the countryside. He reviewed his notes on the road and wrote out a detailed report to present when he got back. His mind was troubled due to the presence of the dragon spotted near Blackwater Cove. As he passed through the area where he first spotted it he felt somewhat uneasy to see that the dragon was nowhere to be found, it either hunkered down somewhere or flew off to another area. The possibility of the prior caused him to shiver. Other than writing his report his walk back was fairly uneventful. He realized a few days out that it would have been just as effective to travel with the group.

In solitude he heard the voice of his savior and his own personal curse, Lekki. "I hope you are enjoying this world now that you can finally see it." then laughter. He found himself laughing with it but he knew not why. He stopped and returned to his notes as he walked. The Cove was in view now and he meant to make it there by sundown. The laughter still reverberated within his mind and he realized the torment that awaited him. His journey would be plagued by this force that he bonded with, what gives him strength requires strength in return. He closed his book then and continued walking unable to focus or even walk in a straight line.

As Xario stumbled up to the entrance to the cove he saw something that disturbed him greatly, his nephew. Gerard stood there with a scowl printed on his face, at the sight of it Xario found his balance once more. The scarred man stood up straight as Gerard approached him. His nephew seemed un-naturally thin and his features were sharp, his blond hair was well kept and stubble traced his jaw leading to a patch of a pointed beard on his chin. He was handsome but in a otherworldly way. At his hip he had a hefty sword with a tuft of blue on the pommel. He wore a thin grey burlap long coat only simple leather boots could be seen underneath it. A sash holds his sword to his waist and his coat is tied off at the wrists by the same blue silk as his sash. The man says in a baritone voice "You are not well uncle you should have never left home."

Xario squared his shoulders at that remark. He said with confidence "I am fine, my body is stronger now. I can even fight now." Gerard didn't seem too convinced but he did take note of Xario's posture, tall and dignified. He then said "You don't even have a weapon uncle, I doubt you can do much unarmed." Then Xario laughed, though he knew not why and freely showed Lekki to Gerard. He said "I have gained the power of Lekki now. I am more dangerous unarmed." He hid the aura once again and embraced Gerard for the first time since he left home. He whispered "I told you to make a family you fool. Why don't you go and live a happy life?" Gerard was smiling now "Do you really think I would be happy as a fisherman my entire life? Besides I would worry for you?". Then he said in a hushed yet excited voice "I heard of what happened in Freeport, though I never expected them to actually take you in." Xario just replied "Neither did I."

In all the excitement Xario forgot about his duties but then his mind returned to the task at hand. He just said "I would like to introduce you to my companions. If you still wish to have a life at sea I might be able to get you a job here." He readjusted his pack and lead Gerard through the winding streets until he finally showed up at the "lab" that Dok has taken a liking to. He knocked tentatively and entered as quietly as he could as to not disturb the alchemist. If he was working with volatile chemicals he would not like to cause any accidents. He waved in his nephew and waited by the door for the deep gnome to finish with his work, putting his finger over his lips in a signal to be quiet.
