This is going to obviously be one that is going to take a while to get right. But I believe eventually we are going to have to fill cities and towns with NPC characters. Also we are going to need soldiers for armies in latter game. We can also include in here the possibility of hire-able NPC mercenaries. My idea for generating NPC for towns and villages basically revolves around an excel document i have. docs.google.com/file/d/0By0T87yvyvcSVm5yYWdrS3p2U2M/edit?usp=sharingI hope that link works. Basically when a town is created rolls are made to randomize its population and industry. Take a look and tell me what ya think

I just checked to see if the link is working, it does work however you cannot use the macro's in googledocs but there is a download button on the top left so you can open in excel. Make sure to enable macros.

wow that is cool to see the sheet i like it but how are you going to take into account all the races in pathfinder?

It is based off pathfinder core rules so doesn't include the extended races. That is OK though beecause the extended races are rare or nomadic in nature

Yes that helps but this idea is more to fill cities with people. To actually get an idea of what shops can be found. How good of an apothecary there is. That idea. And you are going to need more than 6 npc to make an army.

The GM said there are no NPC shops that sell gear. So all weapons/armor must be player made. You can also use stuff you get from encounters but you can't trade them. Also not manufacturing and selling to NPC's but you can sell stuff you found in encounters and only that.

I am just thinking down the road. When factions have developed multiple cities and towns. 5 people in a faction with 5 cities isn't realistic.

Or down the road you can hire npc craftsmen to set up shop and produce goods based on resources brought in. Obviously this would take a lot of discussion. Just wanted to make a place to talk about it

This might make the world a more lively and populated place or turn it into logistical nightmare:D

I agree with the idea, but we'll need a different system to use for it me thinks. That and I don't think 92 houses are capable of holding 1.5k people in a "small town" o.o But your mind is definitely on the right track here.
