Written in a collection of loose parchment stuffed down a map scroll.
:::Day 1::: I set off from the camp in the early morning as the sun was just breaking the hill. The air was crisp and I was finally alone. Blackwater Was a short distance away, but I thought it more Prudent to hone my skills right now and get a lay of the land. There for I will hunt on my own until I am satisfied that I an be of use to the Captain.
Today After only a couple of hours I found a large Stag grazing in a field not far from the camp that I left. It was a thing of beauty and would bring me many hearty meals if i can land it. Approaching slowly It heard the snap of a twig under my foot and raised its head in my direction. It must have seen me as it bounded off straight away and dodged the only arrow I could loose in its direction before it vanished into the bush.

:::Day 2::: I slept in late this day, the exhaustion of yesterdays frustrating hunt keeping me on the ground. I blame this on weakness as a stronger person would not have succumb to sleep. The sun is high now, I started heading south and then meandered by the shores of Lake Grave. Nearing Blackwater cove I ended back were I started the sun now growing low in the sky. My Hunt today is a failure.

:::Day 3::: Fuled by the failed of yesterday I set out early to try my hand at hunting again. I have not traveled very far in relation to when I started days ago leaving the little one and the Wizard behind. However a new sound has reached my hears. The Thunder of hooves. I followed it for quite some time across the plains and eventually found it. There lied before me a massive heard with one lone horse to the side, It would be my target.
I pulled my bow but in doing so I must have broken cover from teh bush as I swear the beast looked right at me. I Froze in my place and eventually it went back to grazing I drew my bow and steeped out loosening a arrow but it had already seen me, It vanished.

:::Day 4::: Today was annoying, I am still flaking from that damned bird, who knew something so ugly could be so mean. Yet mean it was, It started this morning with its ear screeching painful headache inducing call, the damn thing woke me up before the sun broke the clouds. It sounded like a stonemill trying to grind small shards of iron over a plate of mithril being run by a very out of tune Banshee bard. Finally when I couldn't take anymore of it I set off in search of it, turns out it had other plans. I chased that Blasted thing all over creation till well after lunch the whole time it taunting me with its call. Finally when i found the blasted thing I had to suppress the urge to vomit, It turns out the creature which looked like some one glued a rats tail and bat wings to a near starved rooster was capable of petrifaction. As soon as I rounded the corner into the clearing and it saw me It charged.
I barley had time to get my scythe out before it pecked me the first time, My flesh as tough as scales turned to stone were it pecked, as did most of the areas it pecked me. We traded several blow, most landing on me and not it before I finally killed the blasted creature. By then one leg and half my are were solid stone incapable of anything but the most basic of movement. As my prize, and more out of retribution I took what little Plumage it had cresting its head and violently ripped it off, it smelled foul but a few dips in a near by creek that I will never drink from again took care of that. I moved about a half mile from there and set camp were I am writing these pages. My arm is stone free now but my leg is still extremely hard and stiff.

:::Day 5::: A good nights rest did wonders for my leg. Stiff as a board but, better wood than stone. I felt well enough at midday that I attempted to make a hunt for the days meal. Again tho my leg hampered me so that even as my luck would have it should I have actually found something I could not have possibly chased it down. I sometimes think I should make my way to fairer pastures but the thought of leaving My grandfather when I know he is so close still hangs on me. I will rest here once more still only about 15 miles from the city and attempt the hunt again with hopefully a healed leg tomorrow.

:::Day 6::: Wakeing this morning I found my leg to be yet again stiff and my mind went to unimagnable places as the thought of being forever hobbled raced to the for front of my mind. However my fears were unjustafied as when i made my way to my feet the unmistakeble tingle of blood rushing to my deprived leg came to the surface. For now this was not the annoyance it normally was but a relief. I celebrated by going out on a midday hunt. I once more ran into the heard of equines from a few days ago.
I crouched low this time as they did not see me and I studied the heard for quite some time. Eventually my patience was rewarded as a small group got separated and a young colt fell behind, it would be my meal. I Knocked a arrow to my bow, the massive beast would fall to such a slender piece of wood was amazing, but more amazing was my extreme tendency to be complexly unlucky.
I loosed my arrow and it flew true, however while I did hit the colt, it merely shrugged off teh blow that. For with one wave of its tail teh arrow dropped to the ground unsullied by the beast blood. In the time it to my to knock yet one more arrow the beast, with its heard, had already fled.

:::Day 7::: It has now been one week since I left the Wizard behind and that little ingratiating and ill tempered runt as well. Today i am hunting for sport and trophy as I have found quite the haul of rare truffles. They ma be worth there weight in Platinum but they Taoist too good to sell. But the best part of today was the Hunt. It was a fruitless one that landed me neater trophy nor meat but I did manage to face down a giant behemoth of a Grizzly bear and even get the Drop on it, that is until I brushed a tree causing some branches to snap and alerting it to my presence.
Once the bear had seen me we came to a short stand off were I knocked a arrow and the bear roared violently, even with my grate size I still decided it was better to flee but the experience was exhilarating.
