I would like to propose that the members of a faction not spending their time in a land searching expedition or crafting should be able to do something to make this game worth their time. Being able to hunt down monsters and bandits in the already calmed land would be nice. Like patrolling the land to keep it safe and earn exp/loot. I know we had a few people who couldn't make it in time to be part of the expidition and would love to be able to play a little as long as the GM is available. I think this action should be when we don't have any factions making an attack or move action. also nomads should go before patrols. It would also need to use a weaker encounter roll. Less dragons more goblins. Less risk less reward. It should cost between 1/4 to 1/2 what an expedition does.
Another option would be training. It could just be like a craft action but for EXP. or a fully acted pvp practice against another player. nonlethal of course.

The GM said that PC's train by default so i guess that means he won't allow training for EXP.
I think that patrols are a great idea. It will help fill up the downtime we have.

Yes absolutely. Players do need a bit more to do. Patrolling would be a great addition. Then once successful that hex could be considered "safe" or "protected" for a number of weeks to prevent abusing. I Agree with you on that Nomads should go before patrols, but I would take it a step further and say Nomads should go before countries in general. Since factions need planning and debate time while nomads do their own thing.

I think nomads and country's are kinda the same lv. Which ever is ready to go should go. I was thinking that each individual patrol could only fight once a week. so if you had like 25 guys and 5 are on land actions the other 10 can split in half depending on when they can get on and from two patrols. each patrol could do a roll of the dice to see if they find an event. I think nomads should get to look for events while they travel to.
As to events I'm thinking it can be things from monsters and brigands to farmers in trouble because of a flood, or even a cat in a tree.

Nomads going after countries provides the chance for countries to hire the nomads that have not placed on the map as mercs.
No one seemed to know about this rule, but anyone can join anyone else's adventuring group, as long as the group approves.

I know that. what im saying is that they should be allowed to patrol places to. I know the flying Bear druid would love to patrol the wild places without making a claim.
