I move to present this to the senate to be voted upon.
Proposal 1.06: Restricting gold from forum rp.
Goal: To prevent and/or reduce exploitation of the gold earn system put in place on forum.
Current Status: Unrestricted. Unlimited amount of gold able to be earned weekly.
Recommended change: A limit be set in place to restrict the amount of gold able to be earned to a weekly maximum of 75.
Prosthesis: Experience earned from roleplaying in forum more closely matches experience earned in game.

I don't like the weekly limit idea, sorry I feel that once the idea of rewarding posts with gold/exp was set in place, it should remain unrestricted. It was put in place to promote roleplaying wasn't it? If you limit it you don't really stop or disencourage abuse, but just change it. I think the only way to really fix any abuse should it arise is by moderating, perhaps make it a second task for the senators? But for now it seems that it's still going very well, without any abuse.

I don't see why you need incentive to roleplay when you are playing a roleplaying game. I like the idea of keeping it as a reward but limit the rate you can use it to advance. Much like we have a limit of actions in game by movement points.

theres plenty of people who just want to play their 14 movement/week and leave, i think this is an incentive to have them rp too, making their character deeper, more story and interactive.

I am not saying to get rid of it. Just moderate it. Some people can't devote as much of their time as others can. It levels the playing field.

a fair statement, as long as you only limit the rewards, not the roleplay itself

I would never want to limit that.

Limiting the amount a person can post is bad, and I doubt many of us would like the sound of crickets chirping to our restriction to post. Limiting the amount of gold per post is alright, nothing about it is restrictive to roleplay.

True, and since i am very bad at judging exp amounts since i'm extremely new at this, i will abstain from further input. as long as you don't touch the amount i can post

I can't really agree with such a movement, as personally I see it as a good incentive to roleplay, and also lets people who lack big groups or other such complications a way to get out of the low-levels without having to take the risk of dying a horrible death and feeling like you're stuck in a tar-pit. The exp amount it can give after an excruciatingly hard amount of work would be inconsequential for later levels, thus preserving balance. It doesn't make everyone a badass for being able to post a lot, but it at least prevents them from being a simple grunt who doesn't stand even a slight chance against other players.
In short, it's a good way to get your legs steady and be in a position to do some good.

Aside from the fact you have 2k experience sitting in your rp gold and I have others in my faction that can't come on here everyday but still make it to sessions with less than 1k

Aye, but you're talking like this is 2k experience that I have not earned or deserved. I've worked for such, I've worked hard for it infact. I may not live up to a reputation of 250 words per post, but I ensure that all of my posts are at least a paragraph in size and with decent grammar. Before I could start roleplaying I had 1k experience from being one of the original thirty. And then after the second week I had 400 experience from helping you fight. First week I could do absolutely nothing because I lacked a group. Second week I could only do something because I hired myself out to Volkenheim to act as their Ranger. And now I'm trekking back. If I didn't have friends here It would be a silent and experienceless journey because I wouldn't be able to fight anything by myself. Now I'm level 3(after that 200 gold) and so I can handle myself a bit more. I'm no god of war but I at least can handle a few encounters by myself or with minimal help. You guys have the luxury of having the largest active population on the map. You guys have the most hexes out of all of the nations, and can afford to do land searches twice a week because you have enough people that most combat isn't an issue. Plus the two engagements per week due to movement if you move about enough.

I would say yes if you proposed that we should get less gold from posts. I mean...if you're here for only roll20 tabletop experience then why restrict us from our off table roleplay?

it isn't restricting you at all. I am not saying you can only post such and such amount per week. I am just requesting a cap put on the gold earned so that it evens the playing field for those who can't come on here every day and post.

Are you guys saying you need incentive to roleplay in forums? That if the incentive wasn't there you wouldn't see the point in it?
