'Sinks' come in the form of upkeep and the cost of new construction, adventuring parties, armies and wars, etc.

I'm not. Im about to start a country that will have a horrible income, vs people who WERE gaining that hex gold for last few weeks.

New nations start with a large coffeer, use that to expand and develop. Just think, if us larger countries continue to earn the gold it will only increase the divide between new and old revenue.

yes but there needs to be more resource things we can build on them. Simple things like stone quarries and lumber camps that depend on whether the area has mountains or trees. Or sheep/cow farms for leather in the plains. Not nearly as good as the mines but still any idiot could see a forest has trees and a mountain has rock and get the NPC's to build the right things. Also we need mines and trees for this stuff paizo.com/pathfinderRPG/prd/ultimateEquipment/armsAndArmor/materials.html They should be part of the Random resources rolls.

What would you people say to evening out the playing field by new nations retaining the 500 gold per hex for as long as the first nation had it to prevent the first nation from having an unfair advantage?

Would it be fair to take out mithril from an iron mine one week at a reduced rate like the mine produces 500 iron a week but then if you want mithril you only get 100 out of the mine that week or we could propose that mines have upgraded forms that produce these higher level materials

not really as Mithral and other such metals are rare and a primary reason for trade and war.

ok and where is this one and why is it not also on roll 20 where the last most recent rule book was. Sorry but this is the most annoying thing about this campaign. It's just not cool to have to have two places to look for a set of rules and never know when they have been updated. There need to be announcements when a new version of the rules is posted. I know Colin is busy, but this is essential.
(Edit: hey so i looked at the rules post and he did announce it there. I look at ever new post when i get on and i have never seen an alert from the game rules post before. I think its a forum problem not Colins fault. I'm leaving up my former post because i don't like when people try to erase what they said because its inconvenient. )
