Hearing the Drill Sargent grumbling Artorius turns his attention to his direction, thinking to himself the poor creature is probably going to get an infection.
Turning back to the cleric Artorius says, "Aurora I think you should take a look at the half-orc he seems to be quite irritated maybe he is getting an infection from one of the creatures we fought."
Artorius then asks Aegis, "How did you find your companion you both seem so much stronger than our current form?"

Aegis smiled " The spirits that empower me have always been with me. I think it was they that saved me when an aberration eat my family." Looking over Artorius' second form Aegis nodded " So what's your story?"

Artorius gazes intently at Aegis for a moment before closing his eyes. He inhales deeply, opens his eyes and says:
"Honestly, I'm not quite sure how he found me. I remember being sent to the plane known as Maelstrom."
A snarl escapes his fanged mouth as he turns his gaze to the campfire before continuing.
"After roaming the crystalline landscape for days I must've collapsed. When I opened my eyes I saw a large creature who offered me escape from the Maelstrom. Only if I agreed to fuse with him and leave the plane as one. And here we stand as one." A toothy grin crawls across his face revealing glowing runes that seemed to cover his gum line.

Magic glowing teeth, Nice touch... Little on the nose though don't you think? nothing screams "hey look at me, I'm the magical guy" like random glowing body parts...

Turning to look at the cleric, "some of us aren't graced with the ability to control the manifestation of the arcane, besides if you're close enough to see our gums in this form chances are you won't be alive long enough to tell the story or we don't mind you knowing."
Pointing at the recently fallen creature he grins again, "honestly you shouldn't even be speaking of subtlety with your smelly friend following you around."

Yea, but there nothing to actually trace that back to ME technically... for all the enemy knows, Grr could've made them, if there even smart enough to notice. but i do agree, these spiders smell like crap...

Sona comes back from the woods with basic medicines to treat her bleeding and grrs bite "damn them hairy bastards they lounged on top of grr like he was fine dining; well good news is that this shotgun is coming very much so in handy against our enemies although i hope will have enough rounds for whats to come"

yep, shotgun'll do that... I use to have one when I use to hunt Werewolves... out of practice though so I probably couldn't hit crap... which reminds me you might want to watch grr... that might've been a werewolf, I wasn't close enough to tell though, could have been a wolf man, in which case it'll just get infected...

Artorius watched as Sona applied the medicines to herself and the half-orc before asking, "How do your and his wounds look? Any signs of gangrene or anything worse, I would be happy to amputate if necessary."

" I'm sure he will be fine. Orcs are great at the whole being mauled thing. I'd say ask Grr but ....well you know. "
(hey guys don't go talking about using shotguns and werewolves unless you have gun training or werewolves in your background. keep the possibility of metagaming to a minimum. please. )

"You're probably correct, he was just attacked numerous times and he is not the cleanest person... Aegis, when do you plan on launching the assault?"

" As cliché as it sounds; when the time it right. We are few attacking many. Be we mighty or weak our hope lies in being aware of our environment and using it to our advantage. Remember your limits. If we must flee then we shall, but not before a few of them feed the spirits. "

Artorius lifts his muzzle to the sky and inhales deeply, "Cliche is an understatement, the wind carries the foul scent of numerous orcs and the sky has been clouded by there campfires for several nights now. I feel that backup is necessary...or a miracle."
Turning to Sona he says, "if you are able, perhaps making more ammunition for that contraption of yours is a wise decision."

The others have moved towards to encampment, I have been tasked with ensuring an ambush is set up at our camp in there absence. May the gods be with them.
The sounds of battle echo through the forest and the scent of blood flows through the winds, it has begun. Something else comes with the wind, something familiar, and much closer.

( after the battle and the challenge.) Aegis returned to camp carrying a limp Sona on a massive chest of treasure. He laid her down gingerly and put the chest on the cart. looking over his own wounds he grunted and sat heavily on the ground. " That was much closer then I like to get to unfriendly Orcs." he said as his other form flowed away from him. The giant becoming just dust, fog , and a slightly battered man.
