What happens if a character dies? Of course i mean out of game what happens, not what is the future of the soul.
And, if it is not already set, could we vote on this?

Character death is permanent. Resurrections by magic are capped.

Character death is permanent. Resurrections by magic are capped. By saying permanent, you mean the player cannot create a new character to play? And what do you mean they are capped?

how are they capped exactly because there are some classes that the ablity to reincarnate is a big draw(druids/witch). There are also a few classes that specifically state they can never be truly destroyed(lv 20 monk of 4 winds.) Are they going to be compensated for the loss of their hard earned immortality.

I think by limited he means that you're limited to what other players can do for you. You can't just go to a church in your city and have an NPC do it for you.

I like the rule. Perma-death makes people not do stupid stuff.

I like the rule. Perma-death makes people not do stupid stuff. Yes, but having to start all over while your comrades will be lots of levels ahead of you and you will practically be useless to them from that time on is brutal. Imagine playing a video game (especially like dark souls) and have your save game erased permanently each time you made a mistake. I would understand a loss of level or two, but beggining completely from the beggining because you rolled an ace against a monster casting finger of death on you is pretty harsh.

As cloud said, it makes people think very hard on what they do next. Also, it's fair for new players because they'll be joining at level 1 as well.

As hard as i try to think i can't prevent a critical hit from destroying me, or a save critical failure from occuring to me. And having a character who always runs away because he is afraid of the dice going against him is not heroic i guess. But even if you do avoid every battle and somehow miraculously manage to reach high levels, where at least one PvP scene will occur, would you like to permanently die while you were sleeping by someone (PC most likely) who was built around assassinating people while they are sleeping?

Is that not how the world works? The great eventually die and then the small must rise up to take their place?

Everyone will have to die some time. It's not like our characters are going to outlive the dangers of the world.

If i wanted to play "the world" i could just go out of my house and play it instead of sitting here. Your words, though poetic, do not fit an RPG world. I would not like to lose my character here, or at least part of the "building" i "built" through all the sessions i took part, because some other pc decided to murder her or because i rolled a bad dice.

I see your point signiferlux. The only issue I see permadeath being a problem is randomness of mass scale combat (you have a chance of dying and not even doing anything) and of course pvp where someone must die.
For example, my barbarian right now could probably kill most your characters. And even if you decided to attempt to run he runs faster. There should be some sort of system in place to prevent me from being an asshole.
